Dick Weber Open Thread

PDW is off to a great start in round robin play.  This could be a great show if he, Duke, and WRW all make the show.  Looks like they were serious about having a righty win the Dick Weber Open this year, no lefties in the top 24!

Belmo is doing to well in round robin...lol And no i'm not a Belmo hater the whole pba is pushing him and wants him to win or atleast make a show. It's annoying because he is not bigger than the whole(pba) by himself.  But congrats to Jeff Carter and continue to bowl well..

rudy kasimakis finished 83rd and tim mack finished 95th. how did these two players ever receive so much hype as being "one of the greats" ?

Who are you to talk? Tim Mack was one of if no the greatest amatuer bowler out there. He won tournaments on just about every continent out there. And at this point in his career, he is doing something the doctor's told him would be impossible, and that is bowling. He has had at least one shoulder surgery, more I think, and was told he wouldn't bowl again. Yet through hard work and determination he is back competing, and helped the US win the Weber cup last year. What have you done? Picked your nose and your butt at the same time and claimed it as a victory?

to reply to the Rudy and Tim Mack comment,

Tim Mack is one of the Greats.  All though he might not be great on the PBA Tour, he was absolutely dominant over-seas.  The PBA and the international tournaments are two completely different demons.  To master one of them like Tim Mack did(the international level), that says something.  To be great at both of them like Chris Barnes, that takes even more talent.  So unless you can attest for that, dont say anything

These comments get really old....

Both of their games were built for international and Mega Bucks patterns.  Usually they have to play very far left and the game there is not about controlling the mid lane.

It is still a big step from top amateur to top pro.  Very few have been able to take that step.  Barnes, Mika and Healey have made that step.  A bunch of names have not.  Some that have not are Rudy, Torgensen, Mack, Kretzer, and Rowe.

who am i to talk ? well, let me tell you. i have an opinion just like everyone else who reads and posts on this website. if i feel tim mack, rudy kasimakis, and brian kretzer, don't come close to the level of walter ray williams, jr., norm duke, or brian voss then that's the way it is. and i'll wager that i'm far from the only person who feels that way. walter ray, norm, and brian have proved themselves multiple times on the pba level. tim, rudy, and brian have a combined total of zero(0) pba titles between them. i think that speaks for itself.

northface28, it's obvious you're a walter ray hater. i too am envious of anyone with 45 pba national titles. however, i'm not envious of anyone with zero pba titles.......especially if they have been overhyped for the better part of 15 years or so. it takes a lot to impress me. whether it's food in a restaurant, a car i'm going to spend my hard earned money on, or a professional bowler. i'm extremely impressed with the steak i got from longhorn the other day. i'm extremely impressed with the acura tsx i bought. i'm very impressed with walter ray, norm, and brian as bowlers. i'm not impressed with kasimakis, mack, and kretzer as bowlers. too one-dimentional. not versatile enough. not good enough spare shooters, etc.
