Title: Belmo proving himself
Post by: dukeblue87 on February 26, 2009, 01:24:41 PM
I think its pretty safe to say that Belmo can compete in the PBA.  After a rough start on the short patterns this week (he definitely needs improvement on those) he has been climbing the standings.  He is currently 93 pins out of the show with two of the longer patterns left (Shark and Earl Anthony).  I think he would be in the top 10 on the 3 longer patterns.  When he figures out the short patterns I think he would be top 10 in points every year.

Anyone else think he could make a run at the show?

Im not....that guy can straight play.  Has perhaps the softest release (less Pete Weber) in the world.  Throws it SOOO soft....

Yeah its amazing how clean the ball is out of Chris's hand.  If you ever get to try and fit your hand into his stuff, its crazy how good he gets out of it with the messed up pitches that he has lol

Chris bowled a local tournament here last month, definitely throws it really good. Still hit the scoring monitors a handful of times though.

Yeah, he's got a hell of a temper.  I saw him live in Clifton Park, NY back in December of 2005.  He kept his temper in check that day and was amazing grateful to the fans.

Good to see Mr. Carter having a good week.  Can it be back to back shows?

I think its safe to say that Wes Malott can now be called one of the versatile bowlers on tour.

Collins is Jeckyll and Hyde. I've seen him meltdown on the lanes but be the coolest guy to talk to off of them.

Belmo definately can hang on tour and like you said once he figures out the short patterns hes going to be hard to beat. I also bowl 2 handed and struggle a tad with the short stuff, I usually through slightly dulled plastic or something highly polished with a pancake block like the Groove Urethane,Belmo doesnt really have that option because those Tropicals are wayyy too strong, the only option would be his white clear Storm spare ball.

Well, Belmo didn't make the Marathon Show. But with the points he got this week I figure he is getting closer to a position that will land him an exempt spot on next year's tour. I don't know if that's his plan, though. Anybody know?
