Well written article and describes how we all feel about a great guy like Jeff.  You did him, bowling, and yourself proud with that article.

I'd also bought one of Carter's charity-sale bowling balls and figured I might slip in a question or two about my own game. So I emailed him.

After a couple of exchanges, Jeff responded with, "It's probably easier to call me about it. Here's my cell phone number."

Excuse me?

Actually call the guy? This would be like the kid who caught "Mean Joe" Greene's jersey in the iconic Coca-Cola commercial calling him the next day to ask his advice on how to wash it.

Classic,

Veery good article.

Kudos Jess. I just find it amazing how many lives Jeff has touched in this sport. If only, and I know its just a pipe dream, other athletes would take notice. Nice guys do finish first sometimes!

Thanks to all of you for the compliments. I didn't know how it would go over when I first wrote it.

Side note, I was out covering another story tonight (tornadoes are coming through here this evening) and someone stopped me to ask me about this story and get some background on Jeff, so I just referred them to his site. I'm just glad to be able to do something to help the promote the sport.
