First it was Angelo, now its Rash.
That bottles really got it in for those Brunswick guys. Must've used one of his cousins at the plant last year or something.

For some reason I can't help but feel the PBA is condoning this.
Producer 1 - "Hey man, Our ratings are down".
Producer 2 - "What should we do"?
Producer 1 - "Well they yell alot on Jersey Shore and all those other reality shows".
Producer 2 - "Yeah man, Reality shows are hot right now"! Let's ask them to yell at each other.
The look on Duke's face IS priceless though. Almost like he's thinking.... OH MAN! I can't believe he really did it.

I didn't see the show or could I tell from the video clip but is Angelo on the Brunswick team for the shoot out? He and Rash both may get into it with Belmonte before this thing is over.

Norm and Hank's reactions were priceless in the background. Also and while it seems like a big blast from Sean the way he finishes it with lets have some fun and almost laughs himself i'm not so sure it was as huge of a deal as the 20 second clips makes it out to be, regardless i'll be laughing again when it airs.

When I first watched it, I was like...Wow. That's intense.
When I paused it at .08 seconds and see Duke's reaction and just about everyone else cracking a smile, I busted out laughing. You gotta figure that if everyone is laughing like that, they know exactly what Sean is talking about. If they were looking around at each other with some WTF faces, I'd wonder if Rash was making a big deal out of nothing.
Whatever the case, I love the attitude and watching video after video of Belmonte timing antics and such with the approach of his opponent. This leads me to believe he does this fairly frequently. Getting out of his chair, Jumping up and down, crackling a water bottle (TWICE)...Guys probably going to be in the back of everyones head on every shot for the rest of his career. His opponents will just be expecting to him to fart or something while they are in their backswing. Advantage Belmo.
Whereas, with retaliation like that, nobody is likely to cross Rash in fear of getting called a dirty word on national TV. Advantage Rash. Too funny.

Well I've watched this five or six times now and I think Sean was as serious as a heart attack. It seems to me that Belmonte has been exposed as someone who will try anything to get an advantage. I think if I were one of the pros and he did it to me I'd try to punch his lights out.

I'm inclined to side with our esteemed colleague, Mr. Bill Thomas. When Belmo did it to Brad Angelo, it looked conspicuously timed, to say the least. The way Belmo's Team Utah comrades were reacting in the background, I'm thinking they might have actually dared Belmo to do it again 'cause it didn't look like ANY of those cats reacted like they were the least bit surprised or angry at how Rash reacted. I know this is a relatively light-hearted event for the touring players but, judging by Rash's intensity and choice of language, this went FAR beyond the normal scope of Rash's previous tirades. I guess Rash had a lot of "bottled" up issues he needed to share.

I think it was Weber at the end who was heard saying "Seriously? You've been doing it too..." To someone sitting to his right... Maybe that was the reason that Belmo is picking & choosing who he's doing it too...

missed the broadcast.
Anyone notice on the shootout yesterday with Belmo Rash Smith and Fagan that in the 3rd frame Belmo is asking for water? It makes me laugh, cause this guy goes through water like he is running a marathon.
Also when Belmo left a stone 9 early Tommy Jones got up to give him a high 5 and Belmo completely ignored him and walked away from him. TJ was within a foot of Belmo to his face and he just ignored him. I think the bottle comment hurt his feelings.
Be good, or be good at it.

from what I saw during the telecasts, I don't think Tommy Jones is too fond of Belmo. TJ had to interrupt Jason's interview to hand him a sippy cup and held his hand out after Jason left a stone 9 on a beautiful shot.
I could understand TJ high fiving a teammate on a bad break like that, but it just seemed like he was doing it to Jason to be mean.
I can't help but wonder if Jason has alienated himself from a few of his competitors and fellow bowlers for the recent television shenanigans? I honestly think Jason is being sincere and not doing it on purpose. I have crossed with him in a couple of PBA tournaments and have had several conversations with him. he genuinely seems like one of the nicest men out there.

It sorta seemed like the 2nd time the bottle popped Jason did it on purpose thinking everyone would just laugh. Like he was just having some fun with the whole thing. Unfortunately Rash didn't take it that way.

Seriously? Do you know how many times people miss high 5s?
And honestly, why would you ^5 someone after leaving a solid 9 pin?
People want to hate on Belmo so much, anything can be viewed in a negative light.

I have to agree with easy10pin here...why would you high five someone when you throw it good and leave a 9 pin...I leave alot of 9 pins and my teammates laugh when i leave them but that hit could be the difference maker between a win or loss. everyone has ganged up on Jason and if you watch throughout the entire team shootout, belmo ALWAYS has a bottle of water. I drink water all the time and I will say, my bottle does randomly pop when it starts to empty. Its jus the shitty quality of the plastic bottle. I think Sean Rash is a piece and I lost alot of respect for Tommy Jones over the last 2 weekends. Im pretty sure tommy leaves a decent amount of 9 pins, I would love to see his reaction when someone treies to high five him after leaving one on a great shot.

Regardless if you like/dislike any of the players involved, IF the PBA would have addressed the issues of the water bottle following the Belmo/Angelo incident this whole thing would have been over a long time ago.

WHile I believe Jason was not doing it initially with Brad Angelo, since Angelo made it a point to bring it to his attention several times, you'd think that Jason Belmonte would have gotten the point and made the effort NOT to use a water bottle.
After the TV incident with Rash, during the actual team bowling stepladder finals, you'll note in the background that every bowler was drinking from a glass!!
I'd also add that the incident with Rash seemed to have been spurred by the Storm team intentionally, as they were all laughing before Rash TWICE put the ball back on the rack, in order to re-start his approach. I think that Jason got the blame for the Storm team. I believe they would not have thought it was so funny if it happened to them, but they did not believe that Rash would be taking the whole incident so seriously.
However at the start of the first TV show last week, Randy Pedersen did mention that Rash WAS taking the whole competition VERY seriously.
I think it was a bad idea that steam-rolled out of proportion.

Its jus the shitty quality of the plastic bottle. I think Sean Rash is a piece and I lost alot of respect for Tommy Jones over the last 2 weekends.
can we blame the water itself too? maybe it was too cold and caused the plastic to expand / contract when Belmo's body heat made contact. just saying, maybe we should explore that excuse.
after watching the shows, it's clear Belmo is the type who thinks his spit don't stink. or maybe Australian culture is just more accepting of sophomorish behavior during competition. c'mon, popping the bottle during a do or die spot is supposed be goofy & fun? I hope his fellow staffers finally took him aside and explained to him PBA etiquette.
as for Rash, he dug his $10k grave when he started dropping f-bombs. TJ has done enough in the PBA to earn the right to show up a Belmo, IMHO.

The part that kills me is Belmonte calling Rash's reaction "clownish" and unprofessional, but he apparently feels that he has no culpability in this incident. Personally, I would have loved to see Rash put his ball on the return, and jump on his Aussie ass.
