well I just got off the phone with my provider.  Its funny how the company can offer that channel in town and move to a diffrent area and the same company wont offer it here.  Thats pretty pointless all around.  Maybe its just the market.

Old Parker Bohn was on TV today, he was throwing ebonite and hooking the whole lane, too bad he threw it like crap in the 10th or he would have won the title.

Time Warner in the Austin area offers it, but I think it is on one of the upgraded packages I have.

Ebonite?  Parker?  Weird.  Hasn't he been on Brunswick's staff for nearly forever?

I will say, he was wearing a brunswick shirt, but it was an Ebonite Firebolt II. It was a match that was cut up but they showed the 7th frame on. I was shocked too, I always remeber Parker throwing Brunswick and I still have the wine rhino he gave me at town square lanes in Riverside, Ca. back in 1989.

maybe that might have been before ball companies threw stipulations into contracts about throwing their stuff exclusively.  So I could possibly see that.  I can remeber that Wiseman threw morich and still throw other equipment.  Duke did the same thing.  SO it could definately be possible.  It might be before he was high up on tour as well

there were many years on the pba tour where players would be on a bowling ball companies "shirt staff"---that is they would wear the shirt of one company but were able to use another companies equipment. then there were players who were on "full staff"---they wore that companies shirt and only used their equipment.

Danny Wiseman and Norm Duke are free agents.  Norm was with AMF at the beginning of last season but he left their staff just before he won with the Absolute Inferno.  Amleto Monacelli did the same thing with Track, leaving them and winning with an AI the same week.

A lot of guys are free agents, not tied to any particular company.  They wear the shirts and get incentives for using equipment on TV but they're not on paid, exclusive staff.  The only person I remember who was actually on staff and allowed to throw other stuff was Waliczek on Circle Athletics' staff.  Their ball lineup was pretty meager so he was allowed to use other stuff.
