I was more curious why it seemed that everyone's equipment seemed to be tracking over the holes? If you listen very carefully, when the balls would rev up near the pattern you can hear it over and over...especially when Mallott was bowling. Odd.

I have had a few bowling balls do it on drier conditions. Flare over the thumb a little. Sometimes on bowling balls where the logo is engraved it will also make a similar sound.

That sound isn't from a hole, it is the label you are hearing.  Normally a bowling center is too loud or the rev rate is too low to hear it.

One of the worst shows I have seen.  We have Randy sitting in a chair, explaining the pattern and some lightweight woman explaining shoes and in
the meantime bowlers are bowling live.  Idiots--fans want live bowling.  You
will not be on the air much longer if you continue to get it wrong.

Whos left?? I see your premise but...

How do you suppose the PBA improve their broadcasts??

My opinion is the PBA is fading away with the strategy they implemented. However, they are attempting to cut costs by filming 5 shows in one location, in one weekend.

What I feel they need to do is open the WSOB event to all entrants...PBA card or no card (no card would incur a fee much like guests bowling regionals). Although this strategy would mean less exclusivity it would increase revenues for those 5 events. In this structure the cream will still rise to the top over a long period of trials.

Back to the post...I feel you would complain if the shows were the same from the previous years. The PBA is trying, breaking down the patterns, and including a pretty face talking about shoes...it's not meant to please everyone. There will always be critics, much like you, that do not like the change.

How about change it back to bowling in a bowling alley?

Everywhere has the gigantic scoreboard with PBA covers over the ball returns that make every bowling center look the same.

How about less fluff stories and more bowling?

Less skipping frames.

Better announcers. Marshal Holman, Nelson Burton Jr, Carolyn Dorin Ballard ect.

You can keep the tips and the info about what equipment the pros have with them this week. Those are good things to have.

Don't have a different format for every show like last year. Don't put a different shot on each lane. Don't use a different score system. Don't make bowling a gimmick.

Promote it and the bowlers for what they are, professionals.

Yes I noticed that... That was a good thing...

Unless of course you are Columbia and now everyone in the free world knows what Barnes TRIES to bowl with...

Has the Out Burst been DQ yet...

How to improve the pba:
Get rid of the announcers and owners. Go back to having a real tour and having events every week and even in the summer with no taped delay finals. Have 5 bowlers on the show without any gimmicks and actually make the even look like a sport. It used to work and it is the only way it can work.
The World Series of Bowling is one of the worst mistakes in PBA 21st century and needs to abolish it before it's too late.
