I just watched it and was kind of surprised to see them skip a few frames in the first match. There are only 2 matches over an hour of TV time and usually any match takes 15 - 20 minutes, even at a slow pace. Plus there weren't many spares thrown today.

I enjoyed the bowling, especially since I didn't know the outcome ahead of time, but am kind of disappointed they didn't even show 2 full matches. I think it was the same with the previous WSOB shows the past few weeks.

I guess that old platitude still holds true: "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with b*llsh*t." Pity, as their fan base seems to be dwindling.

In case anyone has any doubts, I did enjoy the bowling I did see. I'll probably record it and view it at my leisure until the bitter end.

The bowling itself was very good. I was there at the bowling stadium to watch the animal pattern shows and the bowling that went on was very good that day.

I can't speak too much about the show as I haven't watched any of them on Espn yet. But I enjoyed watching Ronnie Russell and DJ Archer bowl on the Chameleon pattern and Rash had a pretty good look to just got unlucky

What trips me out is people complaining about ESPN taking a commercial break early in the first match, meaning there's not continuous coverage of every shot. The old PBT on ABC Sports would cut for commercials  -- thereby skipping frames -- both during live and pre-recorded telecasts. So what's the bitching and moaning?

Because it's not live and there's only 30 minutes of bowling in 60 minutes of air time.  Tv shows in prime time are under a regulation to show something like 40 minutes of the show in 60 minutes of air time. Is it really too much to ask? It's not like bowling has tons of sponsors waiting to buy this air time. 

I thought this telecast was way better than the first 2.  Hard not to root for Archer.  Big day for him...

While the bowlers on the show are outstanding, the format of the show is terrible.  Only two matches for the entire show.  The amateur part, while ok, is still not very rewarding for the contestant--he might win a bowling ball.  Terrible.  Then they even have to cut some of the live bowling so someone can talk more.  Please revise.

The shows on ABC used to go to commercial breaks but would normally 'pause' the game unless they were strapped on time and then they would allow the bowlers to bowl through the telecast. Back when bowling was competing with college basketball on ABC, they let the college games continue even though they would cut into the telecast.

Did anyone notice that the opening "credits" took 17 minutes.  I lost interest long about there
