Barnes had the chance to shut him out with an 8 count - and he hits 7.

Choker showed up today.  I just hope Kenny is up to punching out in the 10th.

Ouch!

Barnes didn't win this title.  He did what he did best - choked in the 10th.  Kenny's inexperience on TV is why Barnes got another title.

Choker wins twice on the bench against two bigger mental foibles.

Wins sitting on the bench twice. Hard to describe Chris Barnes. Win or lose he just can't have a good complete game. There is always that one frame where you think "Brain Fart". But he won so hats off.

Barnes choked 2x this week and still won a title.  He got all the breaks today, tripping out the 4 MULTIPLE times, caving in the bucket, etc.  But he did make a great adjustment on the right lane in the title match.

Maybe Mike should stop rooming w/ Chris Barnes.  The choking seemed to rub off onto him.

That would have been the best ending this year since Haugen after that missed 10.  Simard is pretty awesome especially considering the first TV appearance.

Barnes = Greatest Physical Game on Tour.

He might have "choked", but he made the adjustment on the right lane and that is what won him the match.

That was a pretty cool adjustment.

He's been performing pretty well lately.  He was in the round of 8 last week (I think).  Finals today.  Hopefully the points will be enough for him to keep his exemption for next year.

He was 41st in the points before today's show.  The top 39 get exemptions for next season.  Today's showing should put him over the top, but there are still 3 weeks left to go.  Anything can happen.

Barnes versatility saved him this time, whereas other times it has gotten in his way.  Two different balls, two very different lines, and two completely different releases on the way to the title.  I know many here don't like him for some reason, but he's a heck of a bowler.  He probably had the worst look considering the lane conditions today.  Mika's strength is loft, and Simard and Mallot can get super deep and wheel the lane with the best of them.  Barnes isn't any slouch in the rev department, but he's not going to keep up with the real crankers when the heads get torched.

Sure he threw a bad ball on his fill, but the ball before went really high.  Whether he moved a little deeper or didn't catch the release, the ball didn't react like he expected.  It wasn't like he missed his mark by a bunch.  But over the years, his poor shots have always paid maximum penalty.  If one of those shaking pins fell, he would have been no worse than a tie.  Simard bowled great, but how many really solid pocket hits did he have?  I know the really high rev guys carry the light hit well, but a lot of really light hits kept him in the matches.  How many times did he yell for his ball to wheel because he missed his break point only to have it rip back and carry.  He did leave two really solid 10's on good pocket hits.  His future looks bright and hopefully he'll get his first title soon.
