THE BEST BOWLER ON THE PLANET! You can't even doubt that now, all the bad breaks, chokes, bad games and everything that has happened to him, he still makes it back more than anyone and now WINS! Congrats Chris, you DEFINITELY deserve it.

Best on the Planet???? No chance. Chris is a great bowler, but to say he is the best on the Planet... get real.

Name one person that is better than him. If you say Walter Ray, you are wrong.

how can that be wrong? WRW has 40+ titles and is clutch on TV...Barnes bowled great today...but best on the planet...no way

If Walter Ray were on TV and up by 50 something pins after 6 frames, there is no way he loses that game. I agree that Barnes is a good (not great) bowler but great bowlers do not lose 50+ pins leads after 6 frames in a major championship finale.

Pete Weber, Walter Ray (... yeah i went there), Norm Duke, Tommy Jones (went there to), Parker Bohn... a lot more

Once you get to the Pro level you pretty much, skill wise just peak off, its all mental from there in, including ball choice, how to play the lanes, your own desire to win. Chris is good, no one doubts that, but the best? No.

if he would of one at least 15 by now i would say he is the best but tommy jones has won more titles in less time. i think in 10 years tommy jones will be the best.

Y'all are talking about who has had the best career, I am talking about who is the best bowler, who has the most skill. WRW, PDW, PB3 have all been on tour like 20 more years than Barnes, you can't compare the careers. Right now, Barnes is the best in the world. Most tv appearances this year, a title, top on POY points. This guy is amazing and more than a great bowler, he is the best.

Chris showed today why he is a great bowler, he bowled where no one else was bowling had a great look, even Tommy Jones tried to bowl where Chris was bowling to no avail. Chris deserves a lot of credit , having said that you aren't the best on the whole planet by winning one tournament nor by winning twenty , if you want to be the best then you have to beat the best and he is a long ways from that but he is a great bowler and proved it today although a lot of people were rooting against him a job well done

Right now Barnes is bowling better than anyone else on tour... He is better than WRW, Weber or anyone else you throw out there..

Career wise, obviously not as good as WRW and his 40+ titles but the last 4 weeks he has been the best, period..

Where are all the Barnes haters now, eating crowe, thats where!! LOL..

Way to go Chris, congrats!!

Chris is a great bowler but I would not say the best. He has 9 more PBA titles then I will ever have so I am not putting him down at all. Until he can get his mental game to match his physical game there will be plenty of guys ahead of him. Once he gets the mental game all the time like he did today then he will push the other that have already been said for the best in the game. Congrats to Chris what a great showing.

Walter Ray was almost dead even with Loschetter midway through a title match and when Chris faltered, Walter just took advantage and pulled away, never once losing sight of what he was doing(Great Lakes Classic). He lost to Mike Wolfe because of bad pin carry(usually the case when WRW loses), not a mental flub. That's just two examples from earlier in the season. What it really boils down to is who has better mental game. If Barnes had the mental game that Walter Ray has and was on tour for as long, I have no doubt in my mind that he would have as many titles if not more. Barnes is definitely one of the best physical talents on tour, but to say that he is better than Walter is a gross overstatement.

I don't know how you define "best bowler on the planet", but if you are talking about who bowls the best on all patterns verus those who only bowl well on certain patterns that suit their game, then Barnes is the one.

The phrase "Best on the Planet" is incorrect, the phrase "best this week" is correct...
