THE BEST BOWLER ON THE PLANET! You can't even doubt that now, all the bad breaks, chokes, bad games and everything that has happened to him, he still makes it back more than anyone and now WINS! Congrats Chris, you DEFINITELY deserve it.

Not the best IMO, One of the top players of today, yes. Today'd win gives him 9 titles I think with 57 TV appearances. He need to learn to win on TV b4 you can call him the best of the best!

Okay, he lost to Wolfe in the Etonic Championship(blew the tenth)-Scorpian: He lost to Wes on the Chameleon in the Lake County Classic: He had a terrible game against Brad Angelo(Brad didn't do good himself) in the Windy City-Shark: Lost in the Dick Weber Open(won't count that against him): Culminated in the TOC where he BLEW a ten pin spare and let Haugen right back in the match. 90% percent of what I just put up here is the result of bad mental game. What seperates the pros from everyone else? Consistency and strong mental game. That's what I based "the best bowler on the planet" phrase on. That's why I say that Chris has some work to do before he can be considered that. I'd love to see Chris win more. When he exorcises those mental demons, he will do just that and can be considered "the best bowler on the planet".

Better?
According to you, that is a matter of opinion.  You discount wins, total wins, money made, and several other factors and try to name him world's greatest simply on your opinion of his talent.

In that reference, there are MANY that I hold in higher esteem than Barnes, with Duke being one of them, along with Weber ( whom I also don't like ), along with quite a few more.

I think you are still the braindead, idol worshipping nut that you will always be concerning Barnes.

Why can't you just come in here and say that Chris performed great today and deserved to win ( because this is the truth ) instead of coming in a trying to make an empirical statement based on only one occurence?

Chris is good.  He showed that today, but he is NOT the best bowler on the planet, and hes also not very personable from what I have experienced.

Do not compare Barnes to Walter Ray, you want to know how good Barnes is? Very simple. Compare PBA final appereances versus wins. That will give give you an idea.

Yes Barnes deserved to win today and is a great talent on tour...but best on the planet...I say again...no way...if i was putting a team together and had to pick on bowler to be put in a spot to come up big for my team...Barnes wouldnt be in my top ten thats for sure...not until he can show that he can preform on the big stage (such as a major)...could he beat me...of course he could and he would 10 out of 10 times...but thats not the issue..and i am in no way bashing Chris...he is one of my favorite to watch...but not best on the planet...

Week in and week out from every part of the lane, he's been the best for a while.  I like Ballard's nicknames for Barnes, take your pick:

GBOP (Greatest Bowler On The Planet)
Son of Jor-El (My personal favorite)

I think right now Chris is bowling the best, he really deserved to win. On another note Tommy Jones was not playing where Chris was playing. Tommy was going straight up around 10 where Chris was throwing the ball around 3 board on an angle to the pocket. They were playing 2 completely different lines.

Tommy Jones is good but there ain't no way in hell that he compares to Barnes, PDW, or WRW. just my opinion

Tommy gets it done on all the patterns, and when he gets to the show, he wins. Chris is a great bowler, and I have met him and talked to him and I think he is a great guy and a better bowler, but with a record of 9 wins in something like 57 shows how can you say he is the best in the world?

I still think that if you put any pressure on him at all, he starts overthinking and most of the time he folds. If he needs a strike or two in tenth, you know most of the times, he will not get it. Yes he won today, but no one got lined up and put no pressure on him what so ever.

I said it in the post couple of weeks ago, I would not be suprised if he made this weeks's show and he did. He is a very versatile bowler and like today you really cannot lock him out on a condition.

Here is my question to you all. What bowler would you put your money on to get up in the tenth and throw two strikes when they are needed? I know I will not put any money on Barnes. I will put my money on many other bowlers before I put a dollar on Barnes so therefore to me he is not the best bowler on the planet
