And yeah, I do know it all.. I don't spend 30+ hours a week learning more about bowling for my heatlh... I do it so I know more than all of you.. which I do. (besides the random few that are staffers/work in the bowling business.. which that population is decreasing little by little)

From what I've heard, half will miss them and the other half will not.

i've been to many pba national tour stops including the tournament of champions. i've been to many pba regional tournaments. i've bowled in 7 pba regional tournaments. i've seen many good bowlers. unfortunately, some of these good bowlers are not very good at being a human being..........
-
Good Riddance.
-
It appears that he wasn't too good at either. Bid them a fond farewell, and don't y'all come back around these parts. You two boy don't belong here.
-
This is good and all, but no more siliconed-up hot wife on TV.
-
Yeah, they both gave up their cards. I know Chip was selling all of his equipment for $50 per ball. I heard they are going to pick up golf, as both are scratch golfers. Every settee area, scoring console, and ball return hoods are now safe in the Southern region.

I will ask his sponsor if he has truly quit, or if it is Chris being Chris. I can tell you off the lanes he is cool guy on the lanes he is very weird guy, i am sure his sponsor will know the deal with stay tuned if you care.
-
Actually Barry, it is true he did quit!
From what I read on the PBA forum's. He was bowling against Richie Allen needed a strike, rang a 10 pin, said a few choice words with some junior bowlers around. They talked about the Jr. Bowlers said something and the PBA Southern Manager issued him a fine. Chris walked up to him paid the fine and told him to go F off.
I was never told that anyone lost their card, I was told they voluntarily gave them up. Both the Collins brothers that is..

FBM,
I know chris and chip personally, they are both great guys off the lanes! Chip is great both actually. Chris does have a bit of a temper, he knows it, we all know it. I am sure you have heard the stories about the kicking ball returns/chairs, throwing bags, dropping F bombs, etc.... Some people just take things alot more intense then others! Chris is true competitor, he doesn't take losing or getting screwed well at all!!
But again off the lanes, they both are really nice guys!

What kind of sportsman, what kind of competitor acts like a whiny crybaby when things don't go his way. Blowing up every time you blow it on the lanes is stupid and immature. You can't possibly expect to win all the time. For someone who is so clearly good at a lot of sports, he doesn't appear to have learned how to lose.

It is pretty amazing in any sport I have seen people blow up!
Baseball player strikesout and he throws his helmet or bat. Player gets ejected he throws crap on the field
Football, guy makes a stupid play, he chucks his helmet. He knocks over the cooler, etc...
Hockey guy gets into a fight when he is pissed off, or breaks his stick over the crossbar.
Tennis guy slams his racket on the ground and breaks the strings. They go get a new racket.
Golf someone hits a bad shot I have seen Tiger yell an obscene gesture before and throw a club.
I can go on and on and on. Everyone reaches a certain point where they do something regret and make themselves look like an moron to put it lightly!
Give the guy a little slack would ya!

FBM i never said he a was personal friend i just know his sponsor, i have witnessed the craziness of him at the Eliminator before before he was a pro. Off the lanes he was a cool guy within 20 minutes of being an idiot on the lanes, he sometimes is just a hot head that reacts to his bad breaks in way that does not show maturity.
George knows him and his brother very well, so i will let him finish off anything else since he is the inside man on this.

I crossed with him at a regional a couple of years ago and he was nothing but a gentleman to me. I know he has a legendary temper, which is a shame because he and his brother have absolutely ridiculous amounts of physical talent.
Honestly I'm sad to see them go....they were a pleasure to watch bowl...even with the attitude issues.

I crossed with Chip about a month or so ago at a regional. Not a bad guy but giant and I mean GIANT ATTITUDE. He must have kicked something at least a 100 times. So this I would think of him as a GIANT A**HOLE!!!

i wonder what the police department chip works for thinks of his nonprofessional behavior away from the job........

I wonder if those anger management issues carry over to his job as a police officer.
That's the scary thought.

Most police officers have anger management issues, that is why their divorce rate is so high!!!

Nah no way! Cops protect and serve and would never let a non-force related issue impair their attitude and decision making at their job.

Chris had his card taken away after excessive arguement, attitude, language, and damaging of bowling center equipment. Harry O'Neale, the PBA South Region Chairman, gave Chris the axe due to numerous complaints and many, MANY infractions in the past.
Chip then gave up his card voluntarily in protest.
That's all I know.

It really is a shame what first impressions can do to someone..In today's world people just dont have the time to get to know everyone they make judgements about..
My first tournament after aging out of YABA I was paired next to Chris and down the way from Chip...After the first game it was kinda scary how good they throw the ball and scary how bad their attitudes can get.. I've heard and seen a lot of Collins Bros. stories and witnessed my fair share of events as well..
But I've also had the pleasure of sitting down with both of them even after a bad day and they are truly some of the funniest guys around..When someone can have such a bad and noticiably bad attitude and still make fun of themselves for it, I can't hold a grudge. It's a ton of aggression cocktailed with a ton of passion that creates the monster these two guys can be.. It's not just limited to tournament play, it goes on in league and in money games..
As Someone said up top, you can't expect to always win. But some people put that on themselves. Set the bar really high and if you fall a little short you may be still be in a cashing situation.. And sometimes you're not..
Tantrums on the lanes were also a mind game ploy.. it caused a distraction for the lower level bowlers and created a tool for higher level bowlers to use against them..
But like I said before, it's sad that first impressions and on lane antics cause people to have harsh feelings towards people. Everyone has their own personality. So live and let live

If this is true...well that explains everything. Seems like I've heard so much about situations between Allen and Collins this would not suprise me. I know Ritchie Allen isn't a saint for any reason either.
