That was not a Rival. I think it was a Jazz. I am not positive, but I know it wasn't a Rival for sure.

So what is Robert Smith in this case lol because hes making the shot look like a house shot. I know you have to play deep on this pattern, but that deep!?!? I didnt think it was possible.

Max Bob wasn't crossing 38 of them, he wasn't even getting the ball out past 10.  And when you have 600+ revolutions on a bowling ball if you dont create that angle your gonna go high on a shot with that much friction.  I'd like to see some people try that with only ave revs (around 350 or so).  They would be in the ditch.

Barnes was not throwing a Jazz. They look like this:

http://columbia300.com/products/balls_detail.php?PRKey=114
http://columbia300.com/products/balls_detail.php?PRKey=113

They would not be enough ball for that condition. They would skate 65 feet.

I don't care what you think it was NOT a Rival that ball looked nothing like a Rival. And I don't know if you noticed that ball he was throwing wasn't enough ball that was his problem I think.

Robert Smith=Roids Rage. My first time seeing Smith on TV. The man looked psychotic. In football he would make one good OLB or Strong Safety. In Baseball, he'd make a good 3B-man. How consistent is Smith's delivery? Does he loft the ball like that every time he bowls?

Speaking of Chris Barnes, the Rival seemed to lose power at the midlane. I kept telling him to move right, but he didn't listen. Barnes went down the way of his beloved Kansas Jayhawks last night against those Missouri "ruffians".

I think Brad ran out of energy. Great accomplishment for a 5 seed to make it to the championship round and coming back from a back injury. Loved his intensity throughout the match. He kept it simple too.

THB...a head band in bowling? There are no head bands in bowling...

Just my .02 cents...

Only when he's gotta loft it over the gutter.  He was playing it pretty direct with just a small swing on the Scorpion pattern on that special doubles tournament they did outdoors at the end of last season.

The ball Chris was using was a Rival. The Rival is aggressive but it wasn't enough ball. He needed a stronger surface prep and layout if he wanted to use that ball. He went in with a gameplan and it didn't work out for him. The only way anyone was going to get a good ball reaction was with the low speed like Brad or high rpms like Robert. Mika had an okay look when got a more aggressive ball in his hands. That's just the way the telecast panned out.

Why did he stand so far left? Does it have to do with his revs?

He's very, very good.  As good as any of the others that have been there since before the exempt days.  He made the show in '93 or '94 as an amateur and lost to Duke.  Did not look nearly as goofy as PA when he was on the doubles show in the early '90s.  No, he doesn't always loft like that, I've seen him play just about everywhere on the lanes.  As a power guy, the big hook is naturally his strength, he's a killer from inside.

I agree.  It's tough for the #5 seed, especially for the first title.  If you've got the first-title jitters, adding the injury and the adrenaline of the two great games plus the squeak in the third game, I'm almost surprised he could even pick the ball up.  I know I couldn't.

If you tend to sweat a lot, the headband is perfectly understandable.  The TV show is hot under the lights and Ritchie Allen has nothing to absorb or stop the sweat.  I agree it's kind of goofy to go to league and see someone wearing a headband, bowling doesn't require that much physical exertion.

I would say he knew that was the best place for him to score. He can play from farther right if he has to as he did in the outdoor tournament. He was playing that with less revs than he was today.

I think today he saw people playing from the right struggling and knew the guy who had the best scores was playing deeper. Then you add the amount of revs he has he can play from that far left with no worries as long as he consistently makes his shots which he did.

It also gave him the advantage vs. Angelo because he was getting a better angle into the pocket. You could see Angelo was struggling towards the end to get his ball to come up at a good angle which is why he was trying to finesse it in there.

I was surprised that Barnes didn't try outside like Mika was throwing his Fury, it might've been a better look than he was getting in, you never know, maybe he tried in practice.

The Elite Cheetah has that old PBA Tour logo on it, and you could see that plan as day.  Only the PBA balls have that logo on them.  The other Elite balls don't have the PBA logo.

The Rampage that Brad threw didn't seem to clear the heads very well.
