Commentary on Equipment
« on: June 26, 2006, 05:24:49 PM »
Why dont the commentators talk more about the ball the player is using or even say as much as the name of the ball?  All I really hear is "he switched to a less reactive ball" or vice versa...

Know what's on the market, watch the bowler's style and see how current material behaves.

I'm sorry but I don't think that $100,000 in product registration fees is FREE advertising. And lately mentionting the names of bowling balls on t.v. and in P.B.A. news has been improving but I believe it has a ways to go, and I believe it will improve.

Well, if you are talking about the later PBA shows with Pedersen commentating, you won't get him saying the brand of ball at all unless it happens to be a Storm ball, since he is affiliated with Storm. And even then I don't think they want him saying it.

I belive Rick Lawerence got fined a few years ago for thanking amf for making some ball that he won with! Beacuse amf were only registered to have their balls used. Storm who actually sponsored an event could have heir products mentioned at any point in any telecast I belive!
