Support the PBA... Why not just support Jeff Carter???
« on: April 01, 2008, 02:30:53 PM »
Somewhat for laughes, but ALOT of people only have great things to say about Jeff.

quote:
You could always stay with my family and I. I live in PA about an hour away. I could pick your brain on me bowling better and for that I'll make sure my wife makes you tons of home cooked food! Also, personally I appreciate you chatting with us.If more pros were as kind to others as you, to just take that extra minute sports in general would be a better place.

This was from a user on here and hey why not??? If someone lives close to the PBA stop save Jeff some money, loan him a room, and learn some bowling knowledge!

You guys kill me !!! If you couldnt tell i've been home bored all day long. I'm working on some PBA Training Camp Seminars ( cant totally let the cat out of the bag on this one just yet ), and i've had Ballreviews on in the background. Plus no afternoon baseball had me bored out of my skull. At least i can stay up late and watch my Rangers

P.S - note to Bud Selig.....please move the Rangers to the AL Central so we can play more games during normal people hours !!! You can send the Royals to the AL West...they cant have that many people watching, right ???

Anyway, thanks as always for the support guys...its always appreciated !

Too funny.

Don't you think us Royals fans are suffering enough! A few years ago we had the chance to go the the N.L. instead of the Brewers but screwed that up too. Don't blink either this could be the last time this year that we are above .500 (we won our 1st game yesterday). Best of luck next season Jeff. I hope the hand injury is 100% now.

jeff, be careful about that comment about the royals. i've been a faithful fan since the early 1970's. i am glad to see nolan ryan named president of the rangers though.

Funny story about the Royals :

2 years ago while bowling the Raytown regional....nice night in April, around 70 degrees or so. We had lunch after qualifying at Hooters, and my options were : go back to the bowl, watch the NBA playoffs or go to the Royals game. Now i've been to a Royals game for about 6-7 years in a row, but nobody else wanted to go. So i decided to go by myself. So i head down to Kauffman, pay $9.00 to park and head up to the ticket window. I look at the seat prices and the most expensive seat was field boxes at $28.00. So i ask the guy if they had any field box seats left. He said how about section 110, row A and seat 1. I'm like isnt row A front row....he replies "yep, right behind the Royals dugout". I said, you mean i can walk up to the window 15 minutes before game time and get a front row seat behind the dugout ??? He said "Sir, we have already lost 13 in a row you know". To top it off, it was $1.00 hot dog and $1.00 soda night, plus i caught 2 foul balls.

So i spent a total of $40.00 total for the night, got to see the Royals beat the Indians to end the losing streak and collect over 10 hits....which is a free dozen Crispy Cream donuts !!! Those were pretty popular the next morning in roll call

Hey Jeff if the Royals were in a 13 game skid at that time all you needed to do was leave your car window down and you would have found a couple of Royal's tickets on the dashboard....Why pay for them at the ticket office? I took my 7 year old son to like 6 games last year (all free) even parking pass! People are really grateful for you to take them off their hands (especially from the all star break on) We are already mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs by then. We were right behind the visitors dugout a couple of times too!

joebowler98, those people that gave away those tickets aren't royals fans.....i doubt they're even baseball fans. the world today is full of bandwagon jumpers....people moving from team to team depending upon who's hot or who won the title. pretty pathetic.

You know I thought I was the only Rangers fan on this board. Hopefully Hamilton can keep up his pace from spring training and the starters can continue to impress.

Maybe Royals tickets might be tougher this year Jeff? Royals blank Tigers 4-0  in 2nd game of series and are now 2-0 to start the season!

Tigers 08' payroll  138 Million  Ave player salary   4.6 MILLION  (2nd highest)
Royals 08' payroll  58 Million   Ave Player Salary   2.2 million   (25th of 30)

* Florida Marlins 08' total payroll 21.8 million  Ave. Player 661K (Dead Last)

I'm an Indians and Pirates fan as well. I remember when the Royals beat the tribe to end their winless streak. A good friend of mine from high school pitched for the royals. He made an attempt to comeback this year with Tampa Bay, but blew out his elbow again. To his credit, he has a world series ring, and was also with the TRIBE when they lost the series to the stinkin Marlins!

And not to get off topic, if the tour ever comes back to the NE Ohio area, my home is open to Jeff and any others that want to stay here!
