Funny story about the Royals :
2 years ago while bowling the Raytown regional....nice night in April, around 70 degrees or so. We had lunch after qualifying at Hooters, and my options were : go back to the bowl, watch the NBA playoffs or go to the Royals game. Now i've been to a Royals game for about 6-7 years in a row, but nobody else wanted to go. So i decided to go by myself. So i head down to Kauffman, pay $9.00 to park and head up to the ticket window. I look at the seat prices and the most expensive seat was field boxes at $28.00. So i ask the guy if they had any field box seats left. He said how about section 110, row A and seat 1. I'm like isnt row A front row....he replies "yep, right behind the Royals dugout". I said, you mean i can walk up to the window 15 minutes before game time and get a front row seat behind the dugout
He said "Sir, we have already lost 13 in a row you know". To top it off, it was $1.00 hot dog and $1.00 soda night, plus i caught 2 foul balls.
So i spent a total of $40.00 total for the night, got to see the Royals beat the Indians to end the losing streak and collect over 10 hits....which is a free dozen Crispy Cream donuts !!! Those were pretty popular the next morning in roll call
