For those who think Kelly shouldn't be bowling - what about last year's TOC?

Last year was the gala 50th anniversary of the PBA. The TOC was held during those festivities.

There were a LOT of players who are hall of famers, not currently competing. Yes, they'd won PBA titles - and lots of them - but a considerable number of them are not currently competing, and technically, shouldn't be eligible for a berth in the TOC - Mike Aulby - Dave Husted - Steve Cook - Larry Laub - etc...

Dave Husted was 2nd after the first qual. round. But, technically, he shouldn't have been bowling....

Kelly won her spot as the champion of the Womens Series MAJOR tournament. The only MAJOR PBA Womens Series tournament. Seems most people had no opinion, until she started wiping the floor with the guys.

I said it in the other thread and I'll repeat it here.  It's the Tournament of Champions, it's up to the PBA to decide which champions they invite.  If they choose to invite HOF bowlers, if they choose to invite the winners of the RPI/RPC, if they want the seniors there, or winners from international tournaments, that's there prerogative.  They've invited a lot of different groups in the past and they've changed the field for the TOC several times.  Used to be just the past 64 champions. Now it includes all former TOC winners, even the guy who won in 1968.  Used to include amateurs (Pat Healey, for example), now it includes the winner of the Women's World Series Championship.
