I know they must be tough out there, but 119? (of course I'd maybe shoot 89).  You do have to ask, what was going on out there?

The PBA site doesn't list the lowest game bowled by a pro, apart from the biggest margin of victory, 172 pins, Larry Laub, 299 defeating Mark Estes, 118 and Steve Jaros' 129 on TV.  Obviously 119 won't "beat" the 118, but does anyone know of a lower score by a PBA member in competition?

What was it...DJ Archer averaged 157.75 for a set. Sounds like a fun shot to bowl on.

Ok, didn't Wes lead one of the rounds?  I guess even the best in the world can get unbelievably lost.

OR, was it a case where he was lost, but doing ok, then figuring he lost the match decided to go fishing in hopes of finding a line for the next game?  You don't get extra points for how much you win by, so I've heard of quite a few people essentially giving up on one game so they can do better the next.

Strike, spare, spare then 7 consecutive opens.  Wow.  I give him credit, though, because I'm willing to be that the two single pin misses in the 9th and 10th were actually shots at the pocket.  Once he knew the game was lost, he started just looking for a ball/shot combination that would get him to the pocket.

It obviously worked because he posted a 183 in game 2 and is looking so-so for game 3.  Could punch out to win.

Give them time to wear out the shot.  Once they start lofting the gutter caps, it could get real interesting.  Daugherty is amazing at playing that shot.

Wes was clean the 3 out of the first 4 frames - he missed a single pin spares - then he missed another one - and his opponent was way out in front. He started fishing, and missed every spare after that... Most were splits, however. He was way down, without a look on the lanes - I guess he figured it couldn't hurt anything..

What was funny, though, was his opponent struck on the first ball of the second game (was up first), and turned to the crowd and said "well, that might be enough!". Although it was funny, it obviously ticked off Wes - and he ended up finding something before the end of the 2nd game.

Sounds like something Tom would say.  He's an arrogant SOB, but he can play the deep 5th arrow shot that the Shark Pattern demands like nobody I've ever seen.
