Dennys World Championship
« on: March 22, 2007, 03:46:09 AM »
Here is a bowler that made a big surge all the way to the top.

Doug Kent

In the first block he finished in position 45,
in the second block he finished in the 25 position,
in the third block he finished in the 7 position.

Today in the Cashers Qualifying Round he is number 1.

That is patience and good bowling.

Let's see how long he can keep his game in good form.

Sean Rash and Chris Johnson came back from being eliminated by one more game. Both came back from a 3 to 0. Winning the last 4 games.

CJ did but Rash won game 1 and then the last three games.

It looks like TJ was not a happy camper in the ten frame of games 4 and 6. How can he miss a single pin????

Given the nature of a best-of match play format, since he had already lost the match, he could simply have been attempting a different line or a ball change.  Not uncommon when total sticks no longer matter, and the 10th frame is a good place to try it...

As to others that made the Super-16...I was glad to see Squeak get past Duke (nothing against Duke, but I always thought Chris was a character years ago when he was living in Texas).

Hmm... Patrick Healey lost by one pin in in the final game.

So even though he got more overall pins than Johnson in their matchup he gets to sit it out.

Ah, match play sucks.

My pick for the final four are:

D. Kent, D. Wiseman

T. Reyes, T. Criss

Final two: D. Kent & T. Reyes = Winner D. Kent
