BTW, you do know that Dave isn't a bowling announcer. He's ESPN's errand boy....covers the "off" sports, like ping-pong, the little league world series, bowling, etc. The stuff not many people watch.

That guy who's now on TBS football on Saturday night should have been kept with Randy on the broadcast team.
My guess is that ESPN wanted a younger audience (Dave's in his late 30s IIRC)so they wanted an announcer who can identify with younger viewers.
Every bowling announcer is forever going to be compared with Chris Schenkel and Bo Burton- those days are gone FOREVER (even they weren't perfect- especially Bo)

That could be true..........Or, they just used him because he isn't a bowling announcer, he does all their "off" sport things like I listed before.

That said, I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that "60 feet to success" line again last Sunday. It's not possible that he hasn't been told a hundred times how annoying that is!
I never heard an explanation for why they (ESPN or the PBA) removed Ron Thulin from the broadcast team. He was the best! Maybe he was offered a better gig?

Oh, and Chris Berman can go screw himself. I wanna jump into the TV and strangle him and the rest of those washed-up morons every time they make fun of bowling, and basically tell everyone to switch the channel to ESPN2!

According to the people who pay. I liked the guy right before him a touch better but he is gone.
What is it about these non bowling color announcers that people hate. I've never seen anyone like any one in this seat! EVER!
