Dear PBA - Are you seeing this?

Dear PBA - Are you seeing this?

I watched the Dick Weber Tournament this weekend in Indy with my young son to be dismayed on Sunday by one high profile pro who shall go nameless yelling out c##ksu#ker at the foul line after a missed shot and another pro who shall also go nameless by raising his middle finger high above his head at the pins after leaving a pocket 7-10 split.  Another pro after spending a number of hours in the bar on Friday before the ProAm came out to graciously help one of the female amateur bowlers in the ProAm buy holding ang wiggling her hips to show her the "correct" stance at the beginning of her approach.

All I could do is tell my young son sitting next to me that I expect to never hear or see the same things from him.

I am not saying that the pros have to be Angels, but we all know the youth of the sport is where the future of this sport is and these young kids look up to these pro bowlers as role models.    I hope the PBA does not turn a blind eye to this as my son loves the sport and I want it to stay that way.

I wish I had taped the show because I watched it and saw NONE of this. I'd love to go back and witness it!

Sadly, there are some users on here who will come on here and tell you that "that's just a part of the game," and that "it's good to see these guys showing emotion." Personally, I believe in handling yourself with class, win or lose. In any case, was this during the semifinals/finals, or was it during an earlier portion of the event? I ask because I'm watching the semis and finals on Xtra frame, and I haven't seen any of the stuff you're making reference to.

Another year, another arsenal of bowling balls, and I'm still a standard house hack!

Gene, I couldn't agree with you more. The PBA is having enough trouble right now without it's "star's" looking and acting like jackasses in public.

I completely agree, this is not the NBA, the PBA is in trouble and should be trying to promote the Tour.  When they are in the bowling alley they are in the public eye of people...NBA has recently been depicted as a bunch of thugs on ESPN, the PBA does not need this.  Big difference in what you saw and extra emotion that Pete Weber had in my opinion!

They can be fined for those actions according to the PBA rules. May or maynot happen. Most of that to me sounds ok with the exception of said drunk taking advantage of a female minor.

Watch any sport, NFL, PGA, NBA ect and you will find a lot worst. Language and gestures will happen time to time by certain people at any time. That is life in any business when bad things happen. Its allowed on TV and only a few years ago it was unheard of. If it was only a few and most others were professionals Id say that is an accurate representation of our society as a whole.

"1 of 1."
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

What's really sad is that this episode is not an isolated one and has become commonplace in modern society.

Respectfully, why would some of you say "I'll try to find it"? If you believe the poster, acknowledge that it happened. You finding it on tape has no value other than to give this further airplay.

It's a sad statement of value in today's society and part of the PBA downfall if it's allowed to go unpunished. Isn't it time we quit saying "It's just a part of today"? and start saying "it isn't acceptable, period"? If we don't draw the line, then we deserve what we get.

I've had a few ocasions in public where I've had to tell my kids the same thing... I don't ever want to see that behavior from you. Props to the poster for drawing the line for his kids, and cons to the PBA for (I assume ) not addressing the situation. If they upheld the rules, the offenders would have known they  would be busted and not tried it. This baloney of "it gives the PBA action and emotion" is a lame excuse for a lack of professionalism..

'Nuff said.

Signature? I dont need no stinking signature...

Doesn't the PBA still have it's fine structure in place?

If these bowlers were doing these antics and knew they were being viewed by a TV audience then I agree they should be held accountable. However if the vast audience was done without their knowledge I may change that conclusion. If someone recorded some of normal league bowling and put it on (say) Face book there might be a lot of bowlers embarrassed!
