brad angelo's ball speed?
« on: November 26, 2007, 02:51:05 AM »
was watching a recent match and looks like he is only throwing it around 15mph even on the spare ball. just wondering
--------------------
# of bowling balls = too many
highest game = not high enough
league avg. = its getting there
tournaments won = let me get back to u on this one

He's been nursing a bad back for a while now, I'm surprised he is even bowling

I don't think Mr. Brad has ever had a lot of ball speed.

That would be at the pin-deck, which is more than ample enough.

Also, on spares, particularly single-pin leaves, doesn't really matter how fast your hitting them, as long as you hit them (this is bowling, not boxing).

Accuracy is what one should strive for, whether it be on the strike ball or on spares.

Too often I see bowlers coming of their shoes in an attempt to throw as hard as possible, presumably to impress others with their physical prowess, which causes them to lift up at the line and miss their mark, resulting, of course, in missed spares (same thing happens when attempting to overthrow a strike shot--mark will be missed, often leaving undesirable pin combinations).

i only throw it around 14-15 mph and it just seems like everything is slinging it away at 17-18 mph. i know i can change me speed with my steps and arm swing but i really dont want to. everyone just tries to make u thing if your not firing a cannon ball down the lane then your doing something wrong

Always stick with what you do naturally.

It's not how hard you can crush ten pins once, it's how many times you can crush ten pins, and if the crush happens to have a softer thud, so be it.

After seeing him live, I can confirm he doesn't have much ball speed. He's a stroker.

he just has something that a lot of professional players would like to have.

That would be the "sweet voodoo roll" that's got Randy so hard every time Brad makes the show.
