Going into the show this week we have:

Storm players all on top of the stepladder. If you want to win this week, you've gotta go through the Storm Nation!! Good luck!!!!

Although I believe the bowlers are just that good you still have to match up. Lets not forget what happened to Patrick Allen this year after he switched from Track to Ebonite. Track didn't work for him. On the other hand Wes Mallot is in the running for player of the year with the same equipment. There are good balls from many different companies but if you don't match your game to cover, core and pattern it doesn't matter how good you are because you will lose to someone just as good that has matched up.

All I am saying is there are actually people calling the Total NV the best ball ever made.

Wow.  Keep drinking the Kool-Aid guys!  Imagine what would have happened if 4 out of 5 bowlers on the show were using the Total NV.  These guys heads would have probably exploded.  Now when it is Storm they will see it as the bowler, not the ball.  Oh ok.   That's pretty convenient.

In reality it is a combination of matching your equipment to your style and what you are bowling on.

Tour caliber player or not, no one can outbowl a bad ball reaction. Bad ball reaction creates a snowball effect, because as bowlers we try to "manufacture" a ball reaction. This leads to a bevy of other problems. Most guys on tour are free agents, so they can pick anything they want. Lately its been Storm.

So, does Storm have crap equipment because they have nobody on TV this weekend?

I disagree.  At the PBA level, equipment is that 1-2% extra that puts people at the top.  Everyone in the PBA is very good.  It then comes down to their equipment.

I'm gonna disagree, as well.

Since each professional bowler fails to hit the pocket an average of 10-15% of the time, it's the bowler that executes their best shot and limits the mistakes that they make.  Since most of the bowlers on tour have SOME level of staff influencing their ball selections, it's up to them to complete the task at hand.  If you're throwing the "correct" ball like crap, you're gonna be a bottom feeder.
