Lane 1, I met Walter Ray and bowled with him at the US Open Pro Am. He posed for pictures signed autographs and was very nice. So I have met him. I was aware of his reputation based on what guys on here have written about him but my experience with him was a good one.

I don't know about you, but if I was bowling for a title, a large sum of cash, and pride too i guess? I would get mad by someone distracting me, especially if i miss. Heck i get mad on a regular day too, sometimes =D

Some of you say that he is nice to talk to and bowl with others say that he is rude and not nice. I seriously doubt that everyone is nice all the time we all have our off days and perhaps some of you just caught him at the wrong time .

Im not WRW basher.  Yes, he is rude, no, he doesnt have any charisma.  However, he IS the best, whether u like his game, or his personality, there is no denying that not a single 1 of us could beat him over the span of 10-20 games.

Now, what ive seen when ive talked to WRW in person.  Its not actually how good or bad he bowls that affects his mood so much.  Its who beats him.

I went to a tournament 1 time & watched him for a few games.  He bowled parker bohn, shot like 170 & got torn apart that game by something like 60+pins.  He was fine after that, still not upset in any way.  2 games later he was bowling jason hurd, who at the time no one even knew about, & jason wasnt throwing the ball particularly well this game.  Jason shot 240 with 3 or 4 really lucky shots, while walted stone 8s in the 10th to lose.  After that he was PISSED, he said nothing about the stone 8, or the lucky shots, but he DID say something alongthe lines of "how did this fat fu#k beat me....".

Walter is VERY arrogant, he knows who "can compete" & who "cant" & gets MAD when those who "cant" beat him.

Im still a fan tho, because im pretty sure if i was dubbed "the greatest bowler to ever pick up a bowling ball", i would be a bit cocky myself.
