Title: Did anyone else see these things today (2/22/09) ...
Post by: charlest on February 22, 2009, 09:23:50 AM
- Michael Fagan trying to throw too big a hook, covering too many boards. That idea seemed to need too consistent a release, too consistent a ball speed, and possibly too small an area to hit.

- Pete Weber lofting the ball to maintain a slightly more direct line to the pocket and allowing him to overlap the two different releases he used on each lane (around the side, full 90 degree release, on the left lane, and 45 degree finger position on the right lane)

- Pete weber lofting the ball too much in the 2nd game (same as the first game0, once some carrydown was created and leaving 10 pin after 10 pin. Slow rolling his adjustment too much and going high leaving the 3/6/10 and chopping it. Making a great adjustment in the 6th frame and nearly closing in on Jeff Carter.

- Jeff Carter using high speed, ANd a more direct line than any one and still hitting the crap out of the ball to insure it carried. (Fagan probably should have done this - 20/20 hindsight)

GREAT show!

Yes I saw the same thing. It almost looked like a typical house shot straight up the second arrow. Straighter is greater.
