I'm sure it was some sort of inside joke... Her mom has supported her through her whole career - a more positive mom doesn't exist!

I didn't hear the comment - I thought she said "I'm not taking your (something) away" - but I could be wrong.

Of all the things to say knowing you are on national television, making a remark of turning a prestigious trophy into an ashtray is the best you can come up with? Be like saying the Stanley cup is a bed pan. Lacks a little decorum and brains or else she dont think much of her daughter being a bowler or something or some kind of hang up of some sort. I mean how many people have had a parent or loved one with them when they accomplish something of that magnitude and the mom or dad or loved one makes a remark like that. I mean when a golfer for example wins the Masters, I dont see the parent or the spouse come out and say we can use the Green Jacket as a dish towel. Its just weird if you ask me because she apparently had no grasp of the moment and what was done and what it meant.

It's just a trophy. I'm pretty sure Kelly won't let her mom turn it into an ashtray.

TOC trophy, it shows a complete lack of class on your part. I myself was not expecting that comment and rewound it once to make sure what I had heard but it definitely did sound like ashtray to me as well.

Post by: Fishbowl815 on January 26, 2010, 02:56:31 PM: LMAO...I had to watch it over again just to see if that's what she said cause when she said it I turned to my girlfriend and said did her Mom really just say she was going to turn it into a ash tray...I'm not taking anything away from Kelly she bowled great and I wanted her to beat Barnes however WOW her Mom did sound bad for saying that and if that would of been one of the major ball sports and someone would have done that they would be killing them in the press for it.
