US Open TV show bowlers' sponsors
« on: July 27, 2013, 09:12:36 PM »
What the bleep??

Every bowler on the TV show today was sponsored by Storm and RG. Every frigging one!!

Where the bleep was Ebonite Int'l (Columbia, Ebonite, Hammer, Track), Brunswick (DV8, Radical), 900Global (AMF), Lane#1, Motiv, Seismic, Jet, Visionary, Lord Field, Lane Masters, Elite ???????????????????????

Monopolies are illegal or didn't they tell the lawyers that?

Hmmm let's see...they have the better staff and largest...the conditions favored them...they out bowled the rest

I didn't want a logical answer; I was looking for emotion! :D

IMHO when there is fresh, most if not all look or react similar...when the volumes either lower or the fronts go, that is when Utah tends to shine...add the amount of play on the lanes and the residual heat/friction....WAALAA

So Randy was worried that when Belmonte took to the lanes that he would burn up the shot/pattern for Wes. Why didn't that happen?

I figure it was too short of a period of time and Belmo somehow never established a reaction until he picked up the Shatter or whatever goto ball that was, in the 6th frame. I thought he should have done something different by the 3rd frame. Wes had a lock with the ball in hand and never lost it.

Well when you consider probably 90% of the big names are throwing Storm and RG its going to happen a lot. TBH its gotten a bit crazy with the number of Pros they have.

Hmmm is the fact that currently Utah stuff matches up better thus the 'big names' are using them or are 'big names' using thus giving the opinion the equipment is better? Chicken or the egg?

Are companies getting a big enough return on their investment to justify chasing down and paying for names?

I use to love watching bowling on tv but when it went away from Saturday mornings it became harder to find consistantly. I had no clue bowling was on today.

Its why I loved when it was on CBS Sports Network in the early part of the summer, they replayed it several times during the week.

I know ESPN is a bigger network, but at this point its a sliver of their coverage so tbh I think they more or less went out and got the PBA just to keep it from being on a competing network. Hard to say what best, less air time on a big network or lots of air time on a smaller one.

As far as Storm representation goes, yeah I'm not denying they are making good equipment and thats why players are going there. I'm the type that has this itch about throwing something different, so honestly I would be going a different direction  ;)
