Here are your finals from Tour Trials...
« on: June 06, 2004, 12:28:11 AM »
1, Mike Edwards, Tulsa, Okla., 10,814
2, Patrick Girard, Canada, 10,248
3, Brian Kretzer, Dayton, Ohio, 10,202
4, Mike Wolfe, New Albany, Ind., 10,200
5, Shannon Buchan, Waterloo, Iowa, 10,176
6, Eugene McCune, Munster, Ind., 10,065
7, David Traber, Bull Valley, Ill., 10,059
8, Jim Pratt, Glendale, Ariz., 10,057

Can you imagine the reaction if someone had said ahead of Day 1 that 10,000 could be shot AND NOT MAKE THE TOP 8?

For the day, playing on pattern E, I also found this positions interesting since some have opined that women would not fare well on E...

29, Missy Bellinder, Fullerton, Calif., 2,064
30, Kendra Gaines, Orlando, Fla., 2,062

They may have been off the top-8 pace for the day, but they didn't do poorly.  Not to mention that all three women entered in the Trials at least cracked the top-50, which is also better than some predicted on other forums.

Also look at the winning picture on the PBA's website it looks like Traber has lost quite a bit of weight.  Either way it comes down to who gets the job done.

Good luck to Jim Pratt! ... PS, He bowled with "Saws" then.  Don't know about now.

Dyno-thane:  I'm pretty sure he's on staff.  I'll check tomorrow night when I see him.

Card, Traber is intense in a similar way to a guy who hasn't been able to take a dump for about 2 weeks. LOL

More power to him, he's a far better bowler than I'll ever be.

Pratt appeared to be throwing Dyno.  Also no thumb.

I was never a fan of someone whose game and personality do not match.  What I mean is that he has the personality of an animal such as Robert Smith, but throws the ball like someone who should just sit back and yawn.  I always laughed at that.  Congrats to him for making the exemption.  But, there are guys out there I would have rather seen such as Tim Mack.

McCune was so annoying on tv that I think that's what really did him in, no matter what he's like, no matter if he's good or not, no matter what he's gone through.  That's one PBA telecast I hope I never have to sit through again.  He made an impression, but it was more like a baseball bat to your new car than handprints under a star in Hollywood.

"My Week" McCune, didn't bother me a bit!

And I liked the way he threw the ball!

What an impressive performance by the qualifiers, and the ladies.

What pressure, what scoring!

Great shooting by all of them. Too bad ESPN didn't see fit to televise it. Could have turned it into a great insite on just how difficult it really is to make a living out there.

I agree with Sr.'s comment about ESPN. Something about ESPN that I don't understand is that they show "Poker Games" and "Pooltable Games" quite regular. I would be willing to bet that more people watch bowling than they do Poker and Pool. So, why do they not show more bowling?

Eugene "My Week" McCune that was one of the best shows ever.... If you just saw the adjustment he made on tv that was amazing

When was it on TV? If it was on TV in OK. I am unaware of it.

Say what you want about Eugene, he is a great bowler. We should all be counting our lucky stars he made it instead of Chris Collins. If that guy ever made a tv show ESPN would pull the tour off tv pronto.

Freshly re-surfaced wood and typical AMF carry equal high scores.

Pattern B was where I thought the woman would bomb out!

They instead impressed me!
