Title: Earl Anthony pattern
Post by: Michbowler on January 13, 2009, 02:42:44 PM
Ok, so who do you figure will do well on this pattern.

I'm clueless as to who to select for my fantasy team this week.

I know it's 40 ft., and supposedly puts an emphasis on execution and repitition.  So, what do ya think?  Who might accel on this pattern?

I agree with WRW. He is hot right now and the oil pattern looks conducive to sanded red ball up the outside!

I'll really go out on a limb and say that Norm Duke will fare well.  Execution & repetition?  Stormin' Norman!

i'd say watch out for those who are playing straighter angles (i.e. WRW, Duke, PB3, possibly Machuga...)

I would say Norm Duke is probably gonna fare pretty well.  Accuracy, repitition and shotmaking are what he's all about.

I think Wes could do well....he can pretty much overpower any pattern he plays on, and he's smart enough to play where he needs to.  Yes, I know he hasn't been bowling that well on TV lately, but with as much as he's making TV, he's gonna break out sooner or later.

Actually, that's probably NOT true. If memory serves, Earl won more tournaments that were dominated by rightys than those dominated by leftys. If the majority of the field were leftys, he didn't usually do as well.

That's part of the magic that was Earl.

Leftys are not faring real well so far. I think some will come through but it won't be a big chunk. From what I saw today put money on the people who can stay in the hunt on fresh and then take advantage when you have to jump in and boom on it.

WRW would be a good pick since I saw him shoot some numbers playing both rockets up 5 and slow looping it inside.

Look for the lefties.  2nd half of the year time to give them a little love.  They always do very well on the west coast swing.  I say PA or PBIII

Only 1 lefty has won this tournament in 7 years and that was Ricky Ward. I don't see the trend changing even being the so called "lefty swing". PA looked good and has potential but Parker finished dead last.

I ended up going with WRW, Jaros, Castillo and O'Neill.

With 2 games left before the cut to 16 WRW is #13, Castillo #14 and Jaros #16, and they're all losing their current game.

O'Neill is a lock at #3 right now.

Our top 3 are about even right now (28 games), your guys are #2, #5, #9, and my top 3 are #3, #4 and #9 (tie for 9th)....I still got WRW in #13 also, I'm pretty happy at the moment.
