Goes to show you when you have a worthwhile prize fund, entries will come. In my opinion regionals should pay $10K. Should be the norm. I hope this new deal with Shamrock will bring money to the PBA and get the tour up to a respectable level in the professional sports world.

If regionals would pay 10k and nationals pay 15k to win, whats the point to going national if you can make close to same money near home?

The large prize fund in this tournament is the result of an unusually generous commitment from the sponsor, the house and an individual PBA member. I bowled in the event last year, and it had an excitement to it equivalent to a national event. Even though I did not bowl particularly well, I wrote a heartfelt thank you letter to the sponsor and the house.

My point is that regionals should be paying this kind of money and national events obviously should be paying significantly more than what they currently pay. From top to bottom.

I think that's what we all want. The real question is where the money will come from. Appletree is a great sponsor, which is not so easy to find these days.

Very great sponsor indeed, and I will be there again next year. Hopefully I can bowl well all 8 games, and not just the first 3. SMDH
