PBA.com's latest poll
« on: October 25, 2005, 06:31:01 AM »
Currently on PBA.com.....
What storyline are you most looking forward to following in 2005-06?
(1) Walter Ray Williams Jr.'s title chase
(2) Tommy Jones' TV winning streak
(3) The "Young Guns"
(4) Pete Weber's comeback
(5) Tommy Delutz Jr.'s return from injury

What did you vote?

I voted for Walter Ray Williams Jr. title chase.  I think this will be the year that he breaks Earl Anthony's record for most tour wins.

I have no doubt that WRW will win his record-breaking title this year (not just the one to tie).  Nor that TJ will be a monster on the telecast.  The "Young Guns" nonsense is just a publicity thing.  Is it an accomplishment for one new guy to win a title?  Sure, for him.  Doesn't reflect on the others, though.

And as great as Tommy Delutz is, he's not exactly the superstar that some of the other big names are.  Fact is, I'm not sure why he's as well-known as he is.  He's got a great game, he's fun enough to watch, but then all of them have great games.  That's why they're professional bowlers, after all.  I like him more than, say, Kent or D'Entremont or even PA, all of whom are arguably more successful than TD.

But I can't wait to see PDW make his comeback.

PDW, just because I like his style.  I'll be surprised if WRW doesn't break the record this year.

The thing is, Tommy IS that good.  He's placed in the top 16 in almost every regoional he's participated in, and according to him, he's not even throwing the ball well.
I expect a lot from TD jr this year!

walter ray winning his 41st title has to be the biggest thing to happen to the pba in sometime. i don't really care if pete weber makes a comeback----i'm sorry his father passed away. i'm also sorry he injured his shoulder. but sometimes pete weber is his own worst enemy and he makes the pba look bad as a result.

I agree, WRW winning his 41st title will be huge.

However, I'd love to see PDW make a comeback this year, and I think he'll have a big one.

I also beleive TJ will power on this season, taking at least 1 title, if not more...
