After meeting Patrick Healy Jr. at a Pro-Am, and seeing what a nice guy he is, who took the time to answer some questions and give me a little help, I always like to see him do well in tournaments. A couple of my other favorites are Pete Weber, because of the energy he brings to a tournament, and the fact he's not afraid to be who he is, and Michael Haugen Jr., another guy I've had the opportunity to meet, and someone who once he meets you, will always go out of his way to say hi, if he happens to see you somewhere.

Robert Smith
Pete Weber
Norm Duke
Rick Steelsmith
Tommy Jones
Least favorites:
Eugene "My Week" McCune
Mike "Weasel Boy" Devaney
Jason "I always suck on the show" Hurd

Rags, I pull for Baldo every time he makes match play, but he doesn't seem able to get to the round of 8. Maybe the PBA would let Carolyn sub for him.

Someone on pba.com was the first to call Devaney "the weasel". Guess it just stuck in my mind. He's probably a nice guy, just something about his on-air persona...
Hurd always has what Randy would refer to as "terrible ball reaction", too skid/flippy. Leaves the most splits of anyone I've seen on the show.

First and foremost, its gotta' be:
Danny Wiseman and Patrick Healy Jr.-I absolutely LOVE their style of bowling and Storm has picked up Healy too! You almost have to include...
Robert "You can't out crank me!" Smith- 'Nuff said. I love to watch this man bowl! I'm glad to see that someone has mentioned...
Norm Duke and Brian Voss- anybody who uses one ball for everything deserves MUCH respect! They have got to be THE most versatile players on the tour right now, regardless if they are winning consistenly or not! Oh SNAP! Two more people you have to consider is...
Amleto Monacelli- I just miss seeing him on TV is all. Plus his style is still very unique! I honestly hope he makes it to TV more often and...
Tommy Delutz- The guy (IMHO), is gonna' be a future star. He's just a solid all around player. (Also, my coach knows him too.
)
Ok, me done now.
--------------------
When you've moved up, moved back, adjusted left and right, cupped, flattened out, have thrown everyting in your arsenal, and the pins still don't cooperate, just say, "Aw to HELL with it!", and throw the ball!

Your list of bowlers you don't want to see contains 3 of the best bowlers you'll ever see.
Just out of curiosity Greg, what is it about Robert Smith that you don't like? From everything I've heard, he's one of the friendliest, best-liked guys on tour.

what three are you refering to ? pete webers a great player but can't stand his attitude. robert smith is still too one dimensional---he either finishes 1st or 100th.

wrw jr and although he is yet to make a show ronnie russel

Greg,
Pete Weber
Robert Smith
Jason Couch
Smith and Couch are both shoo-ins for the Hall of Fame someday. Regardless of your personal feelings about Pete Weber, he is undeniably one of the best ever to shoe up.

seadrive----never said pete weber couldn't bowl. i never said barry bonds couldn't play baseball either but he's still a jackass. know what i mean ?
jason couch will probably make the hall of fame down the road----no doubt a great player. don't like his attitude.
robert smith may not be a lock for the hall of fame. inconsistent play may hurt him. not to mention his style and type of game might wear him down early----ditto for couch.
i think the players i mentioned represent THE best that the pba has to offer:
walter ray williams, jr.----6 time pba player of the year, pba hall of famer, 37 titles, 5 majors, best righthander of all-time, etc.
norm duke---2 time pba player of the year, abc hall of famer, future pba hall of famer, 20 titles, 3 majors, etc.
parker bohn III---2 time pba player of the year, pba hall of famer, 29 titles, an abc masters, 2nd best lefthander of all-time, etc.
brian voss---pba player of the year, pba hall of fame, 22 titles, pba national championship winner, etc.
chris barnes---pba rookie of the year, 5 titles, best talent to hit the pba tour in the past 15 years.
i think these are reason enough........

Fine Greg, no problem. Mongo the Unlefty asked you why you didn't want to see the guys on your least-favorite list, other than Weber, who we all know you hate. You didn't answer the question, but you said this:

mongo the unlefty, my list of favorite bowlers includes 5 of the best players the pba will ever see.....enough said.
I just pointed out that talent and ability cannot be the only reasons for your choices, since there are some very good players in your second list, and one great player.

oh, i don't know about that. talent and ability are two great reasons for having certain players as your favorites. after all, it's the talent and ability that get you multiple titles, hall of fame, etc. attitude, demeanor, showboating, etc., never won a title.
