New Ball Syndrome
« on: December 03, 2009, 07:23:31 PM »
I always here about people having the new ball syndrome but i think i have it the worst. I recently "stole" my dads columbia 300 freeze after throwing it one night on the cheetah. I called him the next morning and told him that i had to have it. 3 Weeks went by and i never had a series under 690. A few shots that i threw it on were the shark, chameleon, cheetah again, and a normal house shot. After those 2 weeks i ordered the Columbia 300 Bedlam and ever since i got it, i NEED to throw it. No matter what the shot it or how im scoring, i assume thats the ball i need to throw. Im putting in an order for a Mutant Cell here in a couple days, i have a feeling my Bedlam and Freeze are gonna get pretty dusty in the near future. Anybody else have a problem to this extent???

It's a normal human reaction to a new "toy".  I always tend to gravitate towards my newer equipment.  Last night I was clearly scoring better with my Loud NoiZe, but I kept grabbing my Burn off the return because it is newer.  I had trouble keeping the Burn from jumping too high, but couldn't resist throwing a new ball with big backend...even though I knew better.

What does this have to do with the PBA Tour?

No. I once saw a Lane1 ball for sale in the Brunswick forum.  That was funny though.
