I watched Round 2 tonight.  Good to see all the players at once, not have to miss some because of different squads.

What Brian said about lane conditions.  Unusual to see Brian Kretzer laying it down on the left edge, targeting 5th arrow with a big arc to the pocket and on the adjacent lane Michael Haugen was piping it off the right corner hard to the hole. Both shot in the 230's.

Bill O'Neill was impressive. Mike Devaney throws a bomb.  Parker Bohn was very consistent.

Steve Jaros looked like he had a good look, he was throwing a small belly over about the 9th board.  Voss was standing in front of the ball return and throwing over the gutter cap in the last game.

Billy Oatman, a left hander, was drifting right and piping a low rev ball to the right pocket (his brooklyn)  off the right corner.  I couldn't figure that out.

Carolyn Dorin-Ballard, who was watching Del, is better looking in person than on TV.  Del Ballard had a pretty good night.

The Traber brothers are competing to see who can be the fattest on tour.

Hardly any big scores all night.  Chris Barnes picked consecutively a 4-7-9 and 5-7.  Wish I could go to match play.

Oh ya, I can't wait. I've been every year in Dallas since 2000 when I got to see final round robin match play and got hooked after that. In 2002 I went to the match play and the tv show where Ritchie Allen won his first title. Then in 2003,2004 and 2005 I started going to the qualifying and the match play. The tv show isn't that great to me. But since I was disappointed when the scedule came out they didn't come to Dallas as the center changed management, I was afraid they might not come back to DFW for awhile. I was going to drive to Tulsa or Denver but changed my mind but I did go to the Motel 6 Challenge after missing it in my hometown last time around and went to the one in Lewisville and was a blast.

Irving AMF is an interesting choice for a PBA tournament. I would of thought the Forum in Grand Prarie or City View Don Carter in Fort Worth would be a better choice. In my opinion, this house in Irving is tougher then most any other AMF and other houses in Dallas/Fort Worth in general. It will be interesting to see players play deep on Pattern B. I wouldn't be suprised to see some bowlers attempt a hard right and in shot, and I think scores will be lower then most would think.

I made my prediction who will win the tournament before the season when we all made all kinds of predictions even though most of mine have been wrong, I still stand by it.
The show will be:

Danny Wiseman
Tommy Jones
Jeff Carter
Tommy Delutz

Danny Wiseman is the winner.

Yeah Brian...I think your right....I use to live a couple of blocks from that AMF Irving house....I didnt bowl league there, but I practiced there a lot since it was so close.....it was always a challenging shot for me...Scores should be a little lower than usual....too bad i moved backed to Houston...I Would have loved to walk over to see the qualifying matches....Oh well, you guys have fun....I`ll be watching Sunday.

Earl

I tried a similar line as Oatman in state tournament a few years ago and had a lot of success with it. That's the line I will always try to play on a reverse block condition.

As for the Dorin's, they look like they each go though a can or two of hairspray every time they're on TV. That must be an East Coast thing because I never see the big, styled hair out west.
