coasterp, I'm local to RS as well. and he does do some good things locally. but he seems to have the habit of sticking his foot in his mouth. we all remember the "not today, Norm" saga. he was flamed badly here for it. and a while back he complained how is local paper doesn't cover him enough. he was probably right, but there are better ways to go about it. as for the Mika thing, I bet he was mad he didn't whiff a spare against him. sorry.

that all said, I always pull for him so people here can eat crow.

Have you taken a look at some of the "talent" around today. His game is pretty modern, in that there are no rules today as for what is modern. The tour is a prime example of it. You constantly have a turnover of the "in" thing to do as far as throwing a bowling ball. When Wes was king, I'm sure there were plenty of juniors going out and trying to look like him. Belmo steps up last year and wins a title and the two handed fad takes off. Norm won yesterday, so now maybe people will decide straighter is greater. In todays game it's all about knowing your equipment, as well as being able to change your game at the drop of a pin. How you look getting to the line really has little to do with it as long as you get the job done. That's in my opinion anyway and many consider me to be a purist.

They're people just like the rest of us. Dealing with some of them beyond the TV and a pro am or such I've found some that are genuinely good people off the lanes that might be projected as a jerk on the lanes and vice versa. But none of them are perfect. But then again who is?

personally, i think he is extremely funny and has a great personality. look at some older telecasts and i guarantee his sense of humor is present.
