PBA Commercials
« on: February 13, 2006, 05:51:09 AM »
Does anyone else think that the ESPN PBA commercials with the guy that looks like Napoleon Dynamite's brother Kip are the most embarrassing things on TV and a disservice to the sport?

I actually think they're kinda funny.  Just my opinion of course.

They were mildly amusing the first time I saw them.  Now, after having viewed each of them 45 times, they are as funny as the banquet commercials from last year with the ziploc-top bags and that driver guy.

Couldn't agree with you more, they are not only that but they insult ones intelligence and annoy the 7734 upside down out of me. With as many times they run each week I wonder how much it's costing for those slots. Thank You I thought I was the only one who was bugged.

I liked the commercials they had before that where the person would go to do something, see that everything they needed was destroyed with the bowling ball sitting right there. "Sundays are for Bowling." Those cracked me up.

I think they are great!  What's annoying is having to listen to the announcers giving us the "maple moxy" and "sixty feet to success garbage.

I Loved the "Sundays are for Bowling" ones ! Most times the "look" on the ball, the way it was positioned, was a scary site !

I thought they were kind of bleh until the "Helicopter-Eagle-Airplane-Swan" commercial. That's one of the funniest things I've seen on TV this year.

"Roll the ball, answer the phone!"  Great stuff!!  I still miss the ones from a couple years ago when they were playing other sports with bowling balls....

I can't call it mocking ourselves because many people have that exact vision of a "league" bowler already. As for the "maple moxie", it was okay for Randy to say it, but to have Dave Ryan repeat it was estupido!

You mean from two years ago, and that (Banquet) commercial was the most annoying
"Brrrrrrrrrrr, whrrrrrrrrrrrrr!"
--------------------
"Smokey this is not 'Nam this is bowling, there are rules"
"Maybe those Ebonite balls hit too hard. They're too good" -Jason Couch after leaving a stone 8 pin
"Yeah but the Brunswick ones get all ten though" -Brad Angelo
"One thing I love about bowling you never have it all figured out" -kingpin76

Husker, I think that's a stretch because a solid portion of what are "casual" observers would think the main character is a ridiculous geek and to be avoided.
