Title: Has the PBA announced the new full-time play by play announcer?
Post by: greenefam on August 20, 2012, 08:09:33 PM
My question kind of speaks for itself.  They used Gary Thorne for the last three majors and they used Lon McEachern for the summer series, but it is not clear to me if either of them or anyone else has been named for the 12-13 season.

Honestly I was fairly impressed with Lon during the summer series.  He seemed at least somewhat bowling knowledgeable and he seemed to hold his own with Randy.

I'd vote Lon over Gary.  Lon at least seemed to know more about what he was talking about and seemed to match up better with Randy.  Gary seemed out of place during his shows, especially the USBC Masters.

I called this one:

In general I think this was a great move.
