Here comes Belmonte
« on: March 26, 2009, 10:10:55 AM »
Now to his bread and butter...the long stuff....he goes +187 for the first 3 with a 300 in game 3.

If the PBA can survive another year...and he can get exempt...he'll help save it.  If he isn't bowling the PBA folds (just my opinion).

Choke Artist? HA!

Hes placed in the top 12 in every single PBA event he's bowled in, name 1 other person thats done that. He is getting over hyped, I agree and so dont a lot of people including Belmo, but can you blame the guy for passing up all the money oppurtunity's to do something as easy as bowling? Its a kids game, like playing baseball. You cant blame the guy for taking the marketing oppurtunities. Anyone that consistently places within the top 15 against 64 bowlers of the world, is a great bowler, and Belmo is one of the nicest and most personable people you'll ever meet, so to put the guy down for bowling well is pretty assinine.

The PBA is going to fold, but not with or without Belmo. The decision of starting the first 7 events next year in Detroit and pre taping them will cost the PBA to fold, or will lead up to them folding.JMO, but Detroit is one of the worst cities hit by the recession, no idea how they think they are going to fill the seats for the show every week and fill the pro-am's every week in such a hard hit city.

I think Belmonte's a good guy, and I'll enjoy watching the show today.
It's not like he tell everyone, the only way to bowl well is 2-handed.  He's very modest about it.  I don't care if you throw it between your legs backwards, as long as it works for you and you stay within the rules.  The only problem I have is the USBC pushing this so hard out of desperation.  It's not going to save the PBA or nor will the PBA fold without him.

Belmonte is very good at what he does but he will wear out every bowling joint in his body and despite what some of you two handed bowlers and no-thumb bowlers think, it will not be as simple as sticking your thumbn in the ball.

When all the power is gone from your game and it becomes necessary to learn how to bowl you will see what the game is realy about.

I won't even get into all the issues that go with developing the proper pitches and spans that you guys have no clue about.

Once again, as a former no thumb bowler I must agree with this. I wish him the best of luck but when he's done, he's done.

too back up the 2 handers....they said brian valenta wouldnt make it more than 2 more years after high school bowling with the two hands...well a colligate team and singles title later, couple of first team all americans, some very decent finishes in the regionals, Jr. team USA, and about 40 or 50 lbs later he is still out there pounding the pocket two handed and he has more torque on his body than belmo does...so idk how long it will last, but till that time...i say lets just enjoy it!

I can totally understand why they chose Detroit.  I believe Detroit has the most league bowlers of any single city.  I think their USBC membership numbers are around 75,000.

I guess Belmonte choked on TV.  LMAO!

Finally made TV?  Two handed crap?

The object of bowling is to knock down as many pins as possible! Who cares if hes uses a two handed release.  I wouldn't care if he used two hands and bowl between his legs.  If the guy is good why such attitude towards him?

Is seems like your jealous of his two handed release?

I just watched the finals on you tube and thought Belmonte bowled great.  Jason Belmonte is a talented bowler and fun to watch!

I'm sorry but you sound like a jealous idiot!
