High/Low points this season
« on: April 16, 2006, 10:53:58 AM »
They had a segment during the TOC with the top 5 moments of the season. Since we know what the PBA thinks are the best, what do you all think the best moment of the season was? And for arguments sake, what was the worst moment this season?

Best moment this season, for me, was seeing PDW get his first win since his fathers passing. He came through the curtains and the first thing he did was point to the patch and then towards the sky. Very emotional.

Lowest point, I think, was after Chris Collins won against Walter Ray, seeing his brother tackle him on the approach before allowing Chris to give the sportsmanship handshake to WRW. Going to commercial you saw Chris's bro molest him while WRW was waiting to make his exit. I dont know why, but that just bugged the hell outta me.

I know it was included in the PBA's list, but Sean Rash's victory was one of my favorite moments during the season.

Low point, probably, was Scroggin's performance at the Masters.  I used to like him as one of the consistently good guys on tour (at least, the last few years) who never won, but now I just don't like the guy.

Highest point was Tommy Jones winning the US Open, followed by Del Ballard's gutty perfomance, Sean Rash's durability to be the first out of the PTQ to win and put on a split and washout conversion demo, Williams getting his 41st title, Wes Mallot getting a 299 and a first title, Mike Edwards stunning game against Norm Duke despite loosing and taking it gracefully.

Only low point I saw was when Ritchie Allen told the crowd to "shut up" when he faced Del Ballard.

Way to spoil the RtR.  In spite of the PBA's foolishness, it might have been nice to wait to see it.

High Point - Sean Rash's win on his first TV appearance.
Low Point - Joe Ciccone blow a 40 point lead and lose the title match against Jason Couch.  I was really cheering for Joe to earn his first title.  But you can't make costly mistakes to win on the PBA tour.

Ciccone's title match. That was horrible, forgot about that one. Definite low point!

Lots of so-so high points often negated by questionable actions of the winners.  It's supposed to be bowling, not WWE.  Lots of good performances and good equipment choices/changes, but you hope and kind of expect to see that.  The absolute low point was the scoring at the T.O.C.  What a farce!  If I wanted to see people average 260 a game I'd watch the league bowlers.  I thought the T.O.C. was supposed to be a major tournament with a very difficult shot.
