Weekly PBA Post: 2/6/05 *SPOILER*
« on: February 06, 2005, 04:01:18 AM »
Well, I decided to do this again.  I'll be updating as the show goes on.

What's in the bag:

Semifinals
Norm Duke-  Absolute Inferno
Tony Reyes-  Ultimate Inferno
Ryan Shafer-  X-Factor
Walter Ray Williams, Jr-  Arsenal

Finals
Duke-  Absolute
Shafer-  X-factor

Match Scores:

Match 1:  Duke defeats Reyes, 222-182 .  Reyes opened 3 consecutive frames which led to his demise.
Match 2:  Though he picked up the first ever Big Four on TV, WRW loses to Shafer, 258-224.
Final:  DUUUUKE beats Shafer, 246-226.

YEAH DUKE AND ABSOLUTE, HECK YEAH!!!

Skills Challenge:
Brian voss comes from 2 strikes down to beat Brad Angelo.

Walter Ray is denied again.  Unless something incredibly crazy happened to Shafer in the 10th.  I'm only watching the live scoring right now, but it would appear that 224 wasn't enough for WRW to match Anthony's record.

Life is good!

It was Track's new ball The Arsenal. If I recall blue and black in color with yellow lettering. Maybe wrong on the lettering though.

Walter's wife went on a version of the Atkins diet where you are not supposed to eat ANY starch at all. Walter also went on it to support Paige. I don't know how much she lost as that's not polite conversation, but Walter was said to have lost 20-25 lbs while on it.

He threw the arsenal at first, but towards the end he made a switch to something else. I couldn't get a good look at it and was just wondering what it was. Unless it was another arsenal drilled differently.

Yeah Duke left AMF not for sure if signed with Brunswick or just using for the week. Ameletto also used Brunswick this week after leaving Track last week. Nice to see they talked about different shoes for Duke but nothing about using Brunswick.

Unbelievable to see Duke win this week after the switch to Big B. Simply amazing. He was strong from start to finish.

It looked like WRW changed from one Aresenal to another.  The one he used on the left lane had more of a matte finish the right lane appeared to be more of a pearl cover.

Duke made that Absolute look fantastic.

Is the pattern they were using closer to the average "house" shot?  It looked like just about anything that got outside came back pretty hard.

Schaffer looks like a lot of bad house bowlers, wish I had form that bad and was able to bowl on TV

I don't get it. Why does it matter if he has bad form or not? I bet you wish you had "bad form" like that and just averaged a 240 on tv and were walking out with a 20,000 dollar check. Gimme a break. You wanna see house shot? Check out pattern E.
