First off, the post from bigsoccer.com is over 3 years old. That being said, I believe Rob Stone is a better announcer than Dave Ryan. Dave Ryan was so wooden with his "60 feet to success". There is no enthusiasm when someone bowled a strike. Rob Stone, on the other hand, screams for the 10 pin or other pin to fall. I like that enthusiasm. Sure, Rob Stone relishes in saying, "Hambone" any time he can, but I believe it keeps the viewer more informed in the match by letting the viewer know that a bowler is on the verge or has bowled a four-bagger. Lastly, Randy Peterson is a better color commentator. He and Rob Stone have better chemistry. Rob Stone also keeps Randy on his toes by asking things like why the 8 pin in the 2-8 spare is called a sleeper. I think Randy Peterson likes his job better and feels more free to state his opinion on what is happening in the match with the way the bowlers are playing the lanes and how the oil is breaking down.
Rob Stone does have his quirks. Hambone will never stick here in leagues and sometimes he gets his facts incorrect. However, I feel he is better than Dave Ryan and will continue to grow as an announcer on the PBA Tour.

I love the sound of falling pins anytime of the day.
I live in Buffalo, NY and contrary to popular belief, it is not snowing.
