Every one that keeps complaining about the "new" PBA is a hardcore bowling fan who would watch no matter what. What the PBA is trying to do is make bowling more interesting to the recreational bowler. The reason why the women's tour folded (in part at least) is becuase ratings went down. Low ratings means no TV, no TV means less money, less money means less bowlers.
Personally I thought the girls were funny and made it a little more interesting. THey have to market to the masses, not a select few. They must be doing something right since prize funds, and I believe, ratings have increased.
Theses guys are getting paid to do something that we all PAY to do, I want to see them having fun. Does anyone really want to see "9/ sit down" for 90 minutes? So if they need to plant some people in the front row to be a little goofy in order to get the players personalities out and in order to increase ratings I'm all for it.
