If Duke or Barnes wins tomoorow, then ...

they become player of the year. I must admit Malott's chances do not look good at this point. I'm not sure which way I'm leaning.

Yea, I guess 8 shows and 3 titles including defending a title, the Earl Anthony championship which is considered by a lot of players to be the new major because of how difficult the pattern is. Also included the marathon open which they bowled on all the patterns. He also made the show at the TOC and he finished 18th at the Open. This is why I don't really like the point system because Wes has had the best year yet he might not get POY.

Agreed 100%.  The year that wes has had screams POY.  Until they mentioned Norm in the POY race, i had no idea he had any chance, since he hasn't been on TV in so long.  Chris' year has been stellar, but I still think it should be Wes.

Yea Malott had a great yea but if Duke wins he so gets POY in my book.  2 majors, plus the Earl Anthony Championship, and Mixed Doubles Title.  Cant be that.  Wes did not win a major and if Duke gets two he is the winner by far.

Looks like not bowling that plastic ball tourney is gonna bite him in the butt. As much as i'd like to see Chris win and go back2back POY I think i'd rather see Richard Wolfe get his first title.

Duke won the Dick Weber Open, Wes won Earl Anthony. Also, the only pattern that Wes didn't make a show on , excluding majors, was the Cheetah Championship which he got 12th.

i'm rooting for monacelli to win and be back on tour hopefully he can tone his game down because he is getting older now and needs to be a little more calm and not throw the ball with too much energy because he might end up like maximum bob (although he is allegedly healed) and have to retire but it would be great to see him win again he did make the TOC show the year barnes won and he is one of the hall of famers on the show so he knows what he is doing

going into this season all the players knew how the player of the year award was going to be awarded. this is what they had to strive for and they knewhow to do it. it was fair for every player. there were many who didn't like the old way of picking a player of the year......pba members voted on it.

The only thing that would be unfair is if the PBA changed the way P.O.Y. is decided AFTER the season started. Sure, Mallott has been great, but so have the others who are knocking on the door.

Whoever wins it will have done what's necessary to have won it.

I don't know if he would come back on tour though. He has a nice center back home from what I understand that he spends a lot of time at. I for one would love to see him out there again.
