Will some pro's continue to use plastic?
« on: February 24, 2009, 05:34:51 AM »
The plastic balls were very controllable and had awesome carry on the modifed cheetah pattern.  Do you guys think some of the pro's may choose to use some of these plastic balls on the original cheetah?

Considering this version of the Cheetah had half the oil they normally see on the Cheetah, I'm guessing no.  Belmonte occasionally throws plastic on normal oil patterns, but he's definately the exception, not the rule.

I wouldn't expect to see any pro's using standard plastic balls on PBA patterns anytime soon.  It is a disadvantage why would they take the risk.

Some do use them late in a block already. On the fresh? Probably not.

No but perhaps more pros will start using a plastic balls as a 3rd option even then just a spare ball and not need to carry 8 balls for qualifying. But I doubt it. The volume of oil is too extreme on all the patterns.
