Not entirely the wrong forum...think 2001 and Peoria and you get the relevance to the PBA forum...

Is she dead or something? It was a good gesture, but was uncomfortable for many to watch. The "new" PBA was trying to showcase their new product what you see today which was completely different in the 90's and past.

Yea, who can forget Peoria 2001. It was important for two reasons. First of all, it was the beginning ( or the end of the PBA ) what started what we now refer to as "bowling season" and started the "bracket formats". The players were so nervous on this show for two reasons. First of all, they are playing a format they have never done on tv and was the first time using a "sport shot". Also, this happened after 9/11 so that was the importance of the national anthem. I remember Steve Wilson throwing it in the gutter and Himmler missing spares. After neither of them did much, the one guy that was obvious to win the tournament was Brian Voss and went out there and stunk it up. He was never lined up and looked very agitated and when he made a move it was too late. The final match was two guys most everyone never heard of which was Kurt Pilon and Paul Koehler. Pilon broke 200 and won and after that you never heard of either bowler doing anything in the PBA. Paul fell off the face of the earth and Pilon never did anything the remainder of the season. Of course he got invited to the Tournament of Champions but did nothing and you never heard of him again.
