baker was absolutely amazing!

watching that guy bowl today was awe-inspiring. his level of consistency was better than mika's and, in the end, it prevailed. congrats on the exemption ToM!!!

i don't care who makes it, how much it costs, or how sexy the ball looks. can i carry the 7 and level the deck with a $60 ball?

bring on the Lefty uprising!

yup, major mika had alot of trouble squaring up in the right lane until it was too late. baker averaged 261.5 on TV today.

Baker was impressive today. Mika finally
got some tapped 10's. And that washout
convertion was soooooo lucky. Without
that lucky break he would've never
been in the finals to begin with. So
congrats to Tom and upstate NY (where
i'm from by the way). Great win for Tom.

Yeh it was pretty funny but yet
very cool to see a pro get a break
like us common bowlers. That spare
reminded me of 1 of my teammates who
averages a 156 and throws the ball
straight and hard. Ive seen some lucky
crap from him.

Isn't it great to see somebody win who doesn't do all that yelling and getting in your face crap. Baker did his job handled himself like a gentleman and won .Could not have happened to a nicer guy

I'm glad Angelo is his roommate.  Angelo was rooting for Baker, even after he was just beaten.  Baker's class is rubbing off on him.  He was even the first one to go over to congratulate baker!

I loved when Dave Ryan so blatantly brought Randy missing exemption.  I know Randy was thinking, "Shut up, you idiot!"

Mika did miss more than we're used to seeing, but recovered well for the most part.  He got two pretty big breaks on the messenger 10's in the first game, but he'd have won anyway.  Then that big washout he got a HUGE break on, or he wouldn't have gotten anywhere close, and Baker would have had it in the bag by the 8th frame.  I'm a Mika fan, but come on StormWarning, bad break my donkey.  3 or 4 more bad breaks and he'd have pulled even with the good ones he got.  Baker was VERY impressive, and after he leveled Angelo (poor guy, his tv opponents are averaging a collective 245+ against him now), I was rooting for him all the way, even though I LOVE watching Mika.

How can you say Wes still would have blown it if MIKA didnt strike in the 10th?? There is alot less presser if you need a spare and count to win. You cant claim he would have done the same thing.

I'm really happy for Baker. Talked to him December at a regional and he was concerned about making the tour next year. That was before they cut the # of players down even further. Baker did bowl the best and deserved the win. Mika got pretty lucky several times. The messengers that tripped the 10s and that lucky washout conversion but he sure did put the pressure on making Baker mark in the 10th. If that 7-10 would have stayed up that would have been aweful.

How nervous would you be shooting that 7 pin? I was nervous just watching it on TV. Anyway it was great show and a good sports story for Tom Baker.

This is a little off topic, but I think the # of plays is too small. Should be at least 64 with open spots for each tournament. Look at the players who didn't qualify for next year. There are some big names on that list. Ozio, Lizzy, Pederson, etc....
