There is a John Mazza playing in the Champions Tour (over 49 year old) qualifier. He is currently 34.
I wonder if it is the same lefty from the 80's on the PBA tour?
I seem to remember him being a good golfer and in fact I think he quit the tour to become a golf pro.

I found out it is NOT the same John Mazza that bowled.

Interesting.....
I had always wondered if John Mazza the golfer...had quit golf and become a top tour bowler! Now the answer!
The John MAzza I had seen on the pro tour in the early 80s or late 70s was a real talent in golf and looked a little like John Mazza the bowler.
If I remember right he was a graduate of Edinboro State UNIV out of Pennsylvania.
He did well in the pro event I saw him in...and never heard his name again.
He was a friend of a high school golfer I played with who became a state amateur champion and also played at Edinboro state.
It was surprising...I figured this golfer John Mazza had turned to bowling.
I guess not!

John Mazza the lefty from the early 90s and late 80s grew up out of the Detroit area.... I think he runs a house now; I think it's up north in MI.
