I saw him bowl last year at a senior PBA event at Beverly Lanes...He still rolls the ball, really, really well. I was impressed with the passion he showed with every shot he threw... We're the same age and both LH... I hadn't seen him in person sincer 1967 at the Waukegan Open.
Yes, they do, Richard. It's one of the better leagues in a bowling-crazy county. Wish I still lived close enough to bowl there.
Jeff,
They have some good bowlers in that league...
Not many under 200.
The man is a bowler and a man.
I see him practicing virtually every time I visit my pro shop/driller.

titletown,
Actually you'd love bowling with Johnny. He doesn't criticize, he doesn't scowl (except when he's bowling bad, which doesn't happen very often.). He'll encourage you if you seek his advice. He is very friendly 99.99% of the time. Actually so is Parker who often subs in the same league. They're really just a couple of regular guys who bowl better than almost everyone else .
Of course you don't want to bowl head to head against either one of them. That league is a man to man points league.
I'd pee my pants a little if I was lined up across from him in a league.
I'm a lefty too, so I would hope not to screw up his line. lol
