Just a personal observation

I think the NY players should have spent their practice time throwing charcoal across Duke's line. Not nice, but maybe affective!

Nah, all he'd have to do is move away from it.

Not to mention, you give him a spot to bounce his ball off of.  Doesn't matter with Normie, he can play it anywhere.  Execution is the only thing that stops him, he is that versatile.

The bigger question is.........

Why didn't anybody move out to Norms line(excluding shafer)?  If I'm in the back watching this, Norm goes 247-257 for 504 the first two games.  I'm playing out too.  A blind man could see Norm had the best look, no over/under and carried light hits.

I agree with all of you above. Duke is very knowledgeable & a great player & champion. I guess I just can't understand how the other players could let him play that line, unchanged & unchallenged, & they do nothing about it. They just allowed him to STEAL the show in my opinion.

Also,Randy said that Norm was throwing an aggressive ball in warmups before the first match,so all that might have accomplished would be to force Norm to increase that ball speed a little,or maybe move in and get him to hook the ball.
Then again, the two shots Norm threw inside were flush shots,so I don't think it would have mattered.

they didnt have to, norm did it himself. i was at the show today and during practice and before hand he throw a paradigm at most 180 grit.. he made himself some burn room, smart man in my book.

you cant say that... and i know for a fact they can.  i watched ciccone and fagan play up the ditch friday night... and in practice. both had better look inside, all the pros can play out but with dukes lov rev rate it just helped... and the reason ciccone stayed in was because in practice the no mercy was absolutely amazing.. he didnt miss.

jr_300, how long have you been watching the pba on tv ? if you've watched it for any length of time you'd know from your viewing that there's nobody in the world better at that shot than norm duke or walter ray williams, jr. i repeat, nobody. other players may be good at it but it's not their "a" game. when a player like duke or williams can play their "a" game and they are throwing it well they are almost impossible to beat----as you witnessed today.

ya i have to admit its dukes "A" game.  ciccone played out in match play and he bowled really good. im not gonna sit here and defend any player, i just would like to have seen what would have happened if ciccone moved out. you could obviously see the ball was hitting poorly, and he was scoring all week outside.
98% of the pba players can play out... you have to if your on tour, im just saying ciccone looked just as good as duke playing up the boards.
