Unfortunately for her, A squad hasn't bowled yet. if the scoring pace holds up for A like it has for B, she'll probably be in 20th or so at the end of the day.

Well, she finished 11th yesterday, so she's got some pins and some room.

And she's got some serious game.

I found it interesting that Kelly and Liz were 10th and 11th for the block today after 8 games.  Two relatively diverse styles and yet there they both were, with only the 2 pins separating them after 8.

Kelly is in 7th after finishing her block.  If the A block finishes this round at the same level (average) from the previous 3 days she will be going into the last day in 8th or 9th.  I think she has a real shot.

I Think it would be great for the PBA to have a woman make it. She's got game, as does Liz. I wish them both the best!!

I haven't seen Kelly bowl in a few years now. I am quite surprised that she is so much higher than Liz Johnson in the standings as of this moment (6/3/06, 9:00 PM) because of Kelly's huge looping hook. At least she used to throw the ball that way; I don't know if she still does. Her huge hook leaves one open for all kinds of lane surface idiosyncrasies and oil pattern transition problems. Even release and speed consistency is often of little help. So, I have to hand her all kinds of kudos for her having done this well so far. I'd love to see her get an exemption; she's a driven and talented bowling professional and one heck of a nice person.

I also 2nd what Charlest said. I have always liked Kelly Kullick's game (maybe cuz I tend to like to loop the ball too!). I have been used to seeing Kelly loop the ball on T.V., but she is a Pro and I'm sure she can play straighter if needed be. I hope any of the women make the top 10, especially Kelly!

Kelly's the only woman with a chance, (as far as I can see from the standings) and a darned good chance it is.

I don't think I have ever seen her straighten it out (I could have forgotten). I assume somewhere along the line, she saw or will see the extreme advantage in being able to do that. Given what I have seen of her, locally and on TV, that proficiency only needs some coaching and some practice for her to successfully incorporate it into her skill set.

Kelly has been working very hard on her game and I hope it pays off with a good block tomorrow on her toughest pattern, mainly it is pretty tough for her because of her slower ball speed.

Good luck tomorrow

My wife is friends with Kelly so I've had the pleasure of watching Kelly bowl quite a bit. I love watching her bowl.  The main reason she's able to get away with covering boards is that she's soooooo soft at the bottom and clean.  I  would kill for that release.  Because she is so soft and clean at the bottom, her ball doesn't overreact and isn't as sensitive to lane changes as most (like me ) with high rotation.  I like to think of her as a female Pete Weber.  I've seen her hit a few Cheetah like patterns so I hope that she has it in her.  She is such a nice person and would be a great addition to the PBA.

Mad props and congrats to Kelly Kulick!!!!

I noticed she was wearing an Ebonite shirt in the group pic on the PBA website.  If she did in fact use Ebonite all through the Trials, I really hope that Ebonite "steps up to the plate" and sponsors her this upcoming season.  IMO, she would make a great addition to their staff.

Just reading the PBA article -
Boy, time goes by so fast; I didn't know Kelly was 29 ALREADY! She still looks like she's a college freshman. She's still got that great attitude, too.

Good Luck this year Kelly !!!

I also agree that there should of been more press on her making the tour.

I gotta believe it must suck a bit for her boyfriend/fiancee Jim Tomek Jr. finishing well back from her. Well at least he gets to drive the truck for her this year. LOL I believe he will try to get exempt for the following year through the regionals as he is one of the better players in the east.

That wasnt a WMB on the cheetah pattern, it was a polished Trifecta. Kel used a lot of Storm equipment this week. I know she used a Passion at least 2 of the days

Thats kool I know that she is not on anyone's staff but Mo has been working with her the last couple of years.  I heard that Mo laid out  a WMB for her to use on Sunday.

There was a brief mention of her making the exemption on ESPN's PTI (Pardon The Interuption) show. At the end they said how she made it and became the first exempt, "full-time" female PBA bowler, and they said it was great! PTI is a great show, and to hear that made it all the much better. Good luck to her out there.

Sad where bowling has fallen.

The Chicago Sun-Times had an awesome article about Kelly in todays paper. It was on the second page of the sports section and was the whole page with a picture of Kelly at Tour Trials. I was happy to see such great coverage of our sport in such a large market newspaper. Here is the link: http://www.suntimes.com/output/slezak/cst-spt-carol06.html
