Since she lives in NJ, how on earth does she qualify to bowl in a Washington state regional?????

you can bowl any regional as a guest or member.  How do you think pros that don't make the show bowl regionals that same weekend where ever they are?

Membership is the only qualification necessary to participate in the majority of PBA events.  Kelly has the right, as does any PBA member with full membership status, to bowl in any PBA event. Simply sign up online, pay the entry fee, and it's your responsibility for making it to the event.

so "regional" has no real meaning?
It only means "minor" leagues.

Quoted from the PBA website:

The PBA Regional Tour has two major functions. It provides a means for high caliber bowlers, including Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour stars, to sharpen their skills before competing on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour and allows competitors with full-time jobs the opportunity to compete at the professional level in weekend events.

Approximately 200 of these professionally operated weekend tournaments span the U.S. offering a cash ratio of 1:3 and a minimum $400 for the last place cash spot. We also provide tournament players with credible lane conditions allowing them to use all their bowling skills, which include physical and mental challenges such as accuracy, reading and adjusting to various lane conditions and spare shooting to name a few. Simply put, we offer athletes who embrace challenge the real sport of bowling, referred to by the United States Bowling Congress as The PBA Experience.

Besides an optimal weekend bowling tournament environment, the PBA Regional Tour program provides major championships for PBA members who are not exempt for the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour. Players winning these majors, which include the Regional Players Championship and Regional Players Invitational, receive berths into the coveted Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour Tournament of Champions.

All PBA members, regardless of their membership classification, are eligible for the other three “Majors” of bowling: the PBA World Championship, the U.S. Open and the USBC Masters. Bowling in these prestigious events, alongside players like Walter Ray Williams Jr, Pete Weber, Chris Barnes, Norm Duke, Tommy Jones, Doug Kent, Mika “Major Mika” Koivuniemi and other greats of the game is the ultimate experience in professional bowling. To take part in the Majors that Anthony, Weber, Carter and other bowling legends of the 20th Century coveted is to touch, feel and be a part of bowling history.

If that isn’t enough, the top 25 players in each region (based on the RPI point lists) will be eligible to bowl the Regional Players Invitational at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., where eight Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour exemptions will be up for grabs. The winner will receive $7500 and a berth into the PBA Tournament of Champions. All entrants are guaranteed at least $400 in prize money. Additionally, the top five RPI point leaders from each region will receive airfare to Reno, hotel accommodations at the Sands Regency Casino Hotel, take part in a winner-take-all team event worth $2500 and receive an opportunity to bowl for the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour exemptions at no additional charge. Those players will still have to pay the traditional $150 entry fee. The next 20 players on each regions RPI point list can enter the tournament for $500. For an additional $750 (optional entry fee) they also can become eligible to compete for the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour exemptions.

Senior PBA members receive all the benefits above, plus special regional events held for those who have reached their 50th birthday. Major events for seniors include the PBA Senior U.S. Open and the USBC Senior Masters. There are also “super senior” cash spots for those who have reached their 60th birthday. Champions of the PBA Senior U.S. Open and USBC Senior Masters also earn their spot in the PBA Tournament of Champions.
Non-members can bowl too!

Although you’ll forfeit benefits that PBA members receive, you can still bowl in PBA Regional events as a non-member and you can try winning a spot in a Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour event through our TQR rounds. TQR rounds precede each of the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour events that are limited to 64 bowlers.

She is amazing to watch. She looked so comfortable, and was executing beautifully. It is nice to see this professional athlete be as solid and on top of her game as she is right now. She is an extremely repetitious bowler who exudes confidence and professionalism. Not only has she proved and is continuing to prove that she is the best female bowler right now, but she is definitely one of the best bowlers period right now. Congratulations Kelly Kulick. Wish you all the best.

Wish I could have seen some of the action, that house is close by.  I''m not really surprised she won, she''s such a great bowler.  Congrats Kelly.
