Lake County Indiana Classic
« on: November 19, 2006, 12:24:10 AM »
Who do you like?  I figure most will take a Mika vs. Duke match-up so I'll go Steve Rogers who is no Midwest slouch vs. Duke.

Mika Koivuniemi

               vs. >>>>>>>>>>>> Rogers

Steve Rogers

Norm Duke

               vs. >>>>>>>>>>> Duke

Micheal Haugen

Winner Duke

Haugen threw a Radar Lock to start, changed on the left to a Track Inertia, and tossed the fill ball with an AMF Nighthawk

norm was using a spitfire and an ace.  Do you know what a special agent looks like?  Because if you did you would know that wasn't even on the rack for duke.

I was there Mika was throwing a blazing, Haugen was throwing an inertia, nighthawk and radar lock, rogers was throwing a redzone and duke was throwing a spitfire and ace. The little dance Mika did was because him and rogers were singing along and doing dances in between the break. Durign practice Rogers and Mika both were throwing the total, it was hitting like a beast

I agree with Long Roller.  The Spitfire is a green and silver pearl while the Special Agent is blue, black, and purple.  You may be thinking of the new roundish Storm logo, which was visible in some of his shots.

Yes, Mika's used the Blazing a few times.  Last year in the GEICO (?), he used it the first match and switched to a CZ the second, I think.  I'll have to watch it again (bummer, I know).  It was a dud for a lot of people and worked well for others.  Just like most of the higher-RG Infernos/Zones.  Much more hit-and-miss than, say, the OI, AI, ZC, and VZ, which seemed to match up to almost everyone that threw one.

Okay.  I am going to help you guys out as far as what balls they were using.

Norm:  Spit Fire, then switched to an Ace.

Mika:  Blazing all but one shot which was the Total Inferno fill ball first game.

Steve:  He was using the Red Zone

Michael:  Started with Radar Lock and used the Nighthawk a couple shots.

He also used an Inertia for one shot.  Middle of the match, Randy (?) says something like "Looks like Michael Haugen's going for a ball change" (instead of moving in).

The left lane and his pulled shot on the 2nd ball in the tenth on the right lane.  Norm struck out to force the Finn to double in the 10th.

Norm Duke is not on the Storm staff.  http://stormbowling.com/company/bowler-staff.asp?tour=1

I guess he chooses to use Storm.  I saw Chris Schlemmer <sp?> talking to him before his matches.  Maybe Jeff Carter can infuse more info. since he is on Storm staff.
